So upon rewatching the episode, wasn't Nicholas out of ammo? He and Glenn fire at the horde and then his gun clicks. They climb the dumpster and you never see a reload.

So either someone just shot Nicholas, and this person will rescue Glenn, or Nicholas is hallucinating and the entire ordeal didn't happen the way it was portrayed.

Careful, Walking Dead. Potential shark-jumping moment in what's been a stellar season.

From a time line standpoint, I don't see how Morgan could have created the Wolves. The Wolves were farther Northeast last season torching Noah's town and others ahead of Rick and crew as they headed toward Washington/Alexandria. Morgan was behind Rick trying to catch up.

The wolves were started by the people that were forced to leave Alexandria when they didn't fit in, before Rick & co. came along.

Over on TWD's Wikipedia page, they say "Nicholas thanks Glenn and commits suicide; his falling body knocks Glenn off the safety of the dumpster into the ravenous horde, where he is seemingly eaten alive."

Seemingly?

Yes, it was intentionally ambiguous. Also, a wiki page is not an official statement from the writers.

When did wolves first appear? Wasn't there something being carved in trees all the way back to cannibal town? What was that? No idea why I can't remember this more clearly.

The wolves are hinted at when they are in Virginia at noah's neighborhood Shirewilt. There were zombies with W's in their heads and "wolves not far graffiti."

The symbols in the trees were in Georgia whatever town Gabriel lived in.

"W" was carved into a lot of trees along the way the group traveled in Georgia, but I don't think you saw anymore after the Termites were killed.

The first real mention of The Wolves was the mid-season premier when they visited Noah's home in Richmond and in the background was spray-painted "Wolves Not Far" on a brick wall.

As far as the theory stated several pages back, I don't believe Morgan started The Wolves. He was still in Georgia and it seems like The Wolves have been in the Northern Virginia area for a while with all their traps that they have set-up. Not to mention, there is no reason for them to attack the group now that they are in a walled city. The time to attack, if they had been following the group since Georgia, is when they were on the road to Richmond and they had no food, no water, and several members were already wanting to just give up. THAT is when you strike at a group that you want to kill.

Was that ever explained?

Now way a major character would die alone without anyone to witness it. Too much drama lost. He isn't dead, at least not yet.

"X"s were carved into a lot of trees in GA, not "W"s.

But with that said, I doubt that the 2 or 3 people (I can't remember the exact number) that were excommunicated from Alexandria would've been able to start a cult that ended up being big enough to create the destruction that the wolves are causing.

We don't know the time frame of when they were kicked out. But the characters have eluded to the fact that the ones they kicked out were dangerous.

You state this with such conviction but the wolves are not people who once lived in Alexandria and were then kicked out.

If they were, they would have attacked Alexandria a long time ago to raid them of supplies. Also, they would have known about their guns and defenses and been wary of that.

This is just a band of crazy people who accepted like-minded crazy people who snapped during the outbreak and became animals, and not people.

Exactly. They apparently didn't know about Alexandria until the gay dude left the photos of the town.

He left that in the car right? Which was a wolf trap so either way they would have had the back pack.

And there is no way a group that large roaming in that area wouldn't have already known about Alexandria.

I think they were waiting for a good time to strike. With Rick and most of the fighters out executing the plan for the walkers.

So about the theory that someone else shot Nicholas because he was out of bullets...

If he was out, he would have known it, so what would have been the point to put the gun to his head? It makes no sense if he didn't have a bullet, unless he was doing it out of frustration.

Doubt it. Aaron discovering his backpack with pics of Alexandria etc that one of the Wolves had found, was their means of discovering the place.

I believe Gareth made mention that the Terminus group had left those.

I think the theory is stupid but he clearly was in some sort of state. I doubt he would have remembered his bullet count.
