you think the presence is indicative of a some deeper meaning because it seems so out of place?
not sure..i just find it weird that they never introduce the character or explain if he has a role (beyond that moment) on the team...

The paradox stuff wasn't subtle at all. It was pretty blatant.
was the specific comparison to escher's works and views obvious? the first time i watched the film, i didnt notice mention of him-nor did i notice the sketches lining the walls in cobb's hallway..i also didnt naturally notice the similarity of escher's "impossible structres" works and the many scenes in the movie..

Just saw it.
Either he is still dreaming, or that is the most lasting top in the history of forever.

He saw him in the hotel level of the dream. I'm pretty sure he would have pointed him out at that point, since he was thinking someone was there to extract information from his mind. Who would want to extract information more than his chief competitor?
It was pretty obvious that Saito's company was going to be swallowed up.
To Fisher, Saito would be as memorable as an executive VP.

WHAT? He's his chief competitor. He should recognize him.

Think of it in this extreme. You own a local book store. Barnes and Noble is a competitor of yours. Do you think the owner of B&N would know what you look like?

It makes it clear in the film that Saito is his chief competitor. Rewatch it. He was afraid that he would become an energy monopoly, which directly threatened him. Saito is super, super loaded as well, not a small time owner.

And it may be that Fisher's dad would have recognized Saito.

Alright, its more like Steve Jobs is on a plane with Bill Gates' son. Steve Jobs Macs are hardly a threat to Windows since they really do almost have a monopoly. Its just Steve Jobs wants Microsoft to be split so he can exploit the situation and gain a bigger market share.

Could this be the most over-rated movie of all time?
Es posible.
I saw it yestrday and didn't get what all the hype was about. Lots of inconsistencies in the plot and it was too long.

As far as fanboys overhyping it? Certainly
As far as it actually being a good movie? No

It was OK, IMO. Definitely not one of my favorites, especially in terms of mind freak movies.

Just rewatched Inception in my theater over here, and I just thought of something else. IF the end was all a dream, would it have really mattered if the Totem toppled? I noticed the film that Arthur defined the Totem as something only you know the exact weight distribution to, so you will know if you are in someone else's dream or not. Well if you were in your own dream, and since you know the exact weight distribution to your totem, would the totem work to tell whether you are in a dream or not? Aside from Limbo, none of the Inception/Extraction levels happen within Cobb's dream space, to where the Totem should still function properly on those levels. If Cobb ended the film in his own dream world, or had been in his own dream world all along, would the Totem have worked despite still being in a dream?

Michael Caine just loves to stir the shite on the Internet. He said that the Riddler would be Johnny Depp and the Penguin would be Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Out of all the actors on Inception, his opinion shoud be taken with a grain of salt. Now would anyone care to answer my question?
