Saito was slumped down in his chair, his face turned to Cobb with his eyes open. He raised himself up a bit groggily and picked up the phone

I don't remember seeing Eames's face, but Dom woke, and looked around the room, and you see Fischer, Arthur, Ariadne, an Saito looking at Cobb, all already awake.
How do you know Saito didn't open his eyes at the same time as Cobb? Dom wakes up, and then 12 seconds later, shows him looking at Saito, and Saito's eyes are open, but he is lying on his side, about to fall out of his chair. For all we know, he could have opened his eyes at the same time as Dom. We just didn't see it.
And how do you know Eames still isn't asleep?

like I said, I don't remember seeing Eames's face

Right, that's my point...
You don't know if he's awake or still asleep. You took a massive leap of faith "assuming" Dom was the last one to wake.

What was the last thing Eames was doing on screen? Besides the shot of him in the airport. Was it when he was forged talking to Fischer?

Edit - Read to fast.
Yes, that was the last scene.

Saito prolly grabbed the gun and shot cobb in the face. Then turned it on himself.

He was still disguised as Browning, on the shore of the river after climbing out of the van, listening to Fischer explain that he was going to be his own man for his father. Making sure that the seed they planted stuck

Inception is what Nolan performs on the audience.

I like that interpretation... even though I want him to be in reality

Haven't seen this posted and I read the whole thread:
Every time someone got hooked up to the machine, someone would always stay behind to operate it and monitor the dreamers.
On the train: Asian kid
On the plane: flight attendant
In the van: Yusuf
Hotel: Arthur
Snow level: Earnes
The only time in the entire movie that someone doesn't stay behind to monitor the dreamers is when Cobb and Mal are on their living room floor. They come out of limbo all alone.
My theory: when they killed themselves with the train, they were only brought up one level. But they'd been in limbo so
long, it seemed like reality when they woke up on their floor.
Mal finally realized the truth and killed herself again to go up another level. And Cobb is still asleep, dreaming.

Well, part of the Yahoo article states this:
"Cinema Blend hosts what has to be the aboslute definitive FAQ for confused fans of "Inception." On whether or not the top keeps spinning, they believe it keeps spinning (meaning Leo's character is still dreaming). Why? The blog notes that the "kids haven't aged. They match exactly his memory of them. A memory which must almost surely by now be out of date, since he's been away from them for many months."
According to the cast list, there are 2 sets of actors portraying the children. One set is 2 years older than the previous. So, either Nolan intends to show them having aged in reality and thus it is reality, or Cobb aged them in his mind and it is a dream. I have seen it twice and still lean toward the reality conclusion.

This might have been asked, but was Leo ever attacked in any of the sequences (outside of when he baited Mal to stab him)?

Yusuf, Arthur, and Eames stayed behind because they needed to initiate the kicks. And Eames never monitored Dom and Ariadne in level 3. Both of them hooked themselves up, and entered limbo on their own.

1) This means the whole film is a dream, which nullifies the concept of totems and renders the ending insignificant.
2) Mal didn't realize the truth - her subconscious was manipulated by Dom. At the end, she's crying and saying, "You infected my mind", and "You betrayed me". That fact that Dom was able to manipulate her in such a way is why we have a movie. She didn't randomly have just a simple epiphany - her mind was corrupted and driven by a single idea.
3) But, let's say you are right, that they wake up, still dreaming. Dom was the one who realized that limbo, which is the abapical layer of the subconscious, wasn't real. He had to manipulate and practically destroy Mal to make her realize this.
If he woke up still in a dream, in a more superficial layer, why would he not recognize it as a dream, when he had just previously realized that limbo, which mirrors reality, wasn't real?

Opening scene in Saito's fortress.
Attacked in the bathroom in the hotel in level 2.

Didn't you read anything Baloo typed? Believing it to be a dream does not make the totem worthless and does not cheapen the ending.

After reading that he thinks Dom is in a perpetual sleep, just like the "guys in the dream room" (who aren't...), I decided save myself time by not reading any more of his posts.
