(Sorta-Spoiler)
Just saw it yesterday, and I thought it was just amazing. Amazing. Even in the front row (which totally gave me a headache). Although, in my opinion, they should have let Two-Face live for the 3rd movie if there is gonna be one. I thought that dude looked so friggin awesome compared to the comics, it was just amazing.

I just watched a show called "Batman Tech" on the history channel. It was showing how all the gadgets in the movie have some roots in scientific reality. It was really interesting.

1. Gyllenhall. She isnt a bad actress at all, but in all honesty she doesn't fit the role. Atleast Katie Holmes was attractive. It was borderline humurous to see them try to act like she was 'beautiful'
Santa Clause..........what the frick is your vendetta against Maggie. She fits the girl next door look just like holmes.
Quit trying to make her sound like a 5 when she is an easy 8.
Lastly, you will never ever pull any trim in your lifetime that will look even mildly attractive as she is.
I hate all this crap about she should have been hotter and shite. The whole point of Rachel is that she is an honest, loving REAL person. Not some fake titty bitch who looks like the chicks Bale rolled up to the penthouse in.
Also, DENT is dead.
Ledger's performance deserves the hype. The posthumous crap helps people praise him but he deserves it.
Some of you guys who critique this crap crack me up.
This movie was fun, entertaining, clever, well executed and in a deep way brings issue to the table that the USA is dealing with today.

She fits it in a homely sort of way. Maggie is borderline attractive if you were to see her in real life. She is not even in the same league as Katie Holmes.

No, she just doesn't physically fit the role.
I respected the great job she did, but at the same time would you want Danny Devito playing Batman instead of Christian Bale?
besides......an 8? You must be blind like a bat to give her an 8.

Saw it yesterday thought it drug on for about 40 minutes too long.
There were only a few cliched sequel moments so that was good. The whole Bruce Wayne/Harvey Dent/Rachel love triangle seemed rushed and I didn't get any since of chemistry at all between any of them.(Could'a done without that frumpy Maggie Gyllenhaal chick from that boring secretary movie for one)
It's a comic movie so it can't be too serious and weighty but it tried in a few spots to be more than just a comic movie and almost crossed the line into being preachy. Example- the Joker was more of a terrorist than a criminal and the critic of "interrogating" him and the critic of Morgan Freeman o b j e c ting to the "cell phone servalance" starting crossing the line into being pc.
The action sequences were all really good though and Heath Ledger did come off rather well as psychotic clown prince of crime.
As far as what you'd expect from a summer comic movie blockbuster I thought it lived up to the hype but wouldn't dare call it anything earth shattering or one of greatest movies of all time or anything foolish like that.
The part I liked best was the opening with the Joker having all his fellow bank robbers killing off each other till he's the only one left. That set the stage for the rest of the movie perfectly.

Seems like it could go both ways to me which is why I do not understand this criticism. The fact is that they DID use the surveillance. It could just has easily been preaching that sometimes it is necessary to cross the line to get the bad guy.

i guess everyone knows Bale was arrested for assaulting his mom and sis, right? didn't see it mentioned but there are 18 pages

Saw it Sunday afternoon. Definitely a good movie, but not Oscar worthy by anyone.
I saw them filming several scenes when I was in Chicago last summer, so it was pretty cool recognizing them in the movie.
That's about it. Oh yeah, Maggie Gyllenhaal is not pretty.

She actually looks like a "homely" version of Katie Holmes. Go to a college bar in BR on a Fri/Sat night and you will see 10-15 girls as cute as MG.

Well no shite an 18-22 year old will look as good as a WOMAN who is in her early 30s........
My point is that she was perfect for the role.....a Meagan Fox or a Jessica Biel would have been ridiculous.
Bruce Wayne is a billioniare, he gets what he wants.
