I know this wouldn't happen, since Jeff knows who voted for him, but why not let him back in to replace Audrey since she just quit. Why not have a player in there who wants to play

If they brought in another player at this point, they'd be behind schedule. To keep their schedule, they'd have to bring Jeff back, reset to pre-veto ceremony, and do the veto ceremony and eviction in two days. That would be kind of nuts. Plus, they'd just put Jeff back up as a replacement for Jason and have him leave again, so it would serve no purpose.
They're just going to let Audrey waste away in the HN room for another day or two and let her leave. And start back up in the HoH competition.
