i think we're gonna need to stop at S3E6.
Stop what? I don't intend to slow down on the show at all. I'm trying to knock it out as fast as possible. But I've been bunching my notes together in emails to myself in order to keep up with the thread.
Although it looks like there are only a few of us actually discussing anything really.

i know the writing isn't up to black sails but you gotta take it for what it is. gratuitus sex and violence with some great characters.
so without further ado...
E5 - Unicorns Carrie finally gets out of prison and of course her husband can't be there to support her because he all coked up and having threesomes with the town stripers. the house lucas bought was cool; was a shame to see it go up in flames and i was not expecting racine to go out that way. (foreshadowing of things to come) just pop, gone. and yep, obvious rabbit is still alive.
E6 - Firekeeper I wont lie i thought that was jason straham at first playing the british hit man.
seems there's no shortage of really bad guys that keep coming out of the woodwork on this show
burton taking out jason and meticulously cleaning up the room was in character but it makes no sense he didnt find the money which SOMEHOW frickING LUCAS still gave asshat the extra $50k the hitman negotiated along w/ the 62k. dammit lucas, pull it together. you need that cash.
E7 damn Kai is grooming rebecca well; forcing her to watch jason fed into the meat grinder but it seems to have lit her bloodlust  love the scene where burton is starting to endear to her; that "I STILL DONT TRUST YOU" scene to me said she went from a burton target, to someone he's cautiously starting to feel more confident with.
and frick gordon again. your wife screwed you over, fine. you cant be there for your sick son?? any sympathy i had for him disappeared this epsiode.
also, lucas losing his touch..leaving those neo nazis alive i knew was going to bite him in the arse big time.
E8 that skinhead attack is ALL ON LUCAS. he should have done more than just clean up after Emmet, he should have killed them to prevent the attack on his wife in the first place.
E9 nobody is buying that opening scene with job. he went from funny drag queen using his wiles to get out of a jam to full on Rambo. that scene was pretty cringe. they need to stick w/ job as the comic relief and stop trying to turn him into superman.
rebecca..dang girl..getting sexy w/ the indian while plotting how to take him out  girl is stone cold.
it did set up the bloodbath in E10 pretty nicely though w/ carrie dumping on gordon (frick you gordon) and heading to NY with lucas to take out rabbit.
E10 BLOODBATH show is not afraid to kill off main characters Rabbit, Emmett, his wife, Alex Longshadow. damn. did love the kingsman-esque shoot out in the church. lucas has more lives than a cat.
eta the 'after credits' scene of the hitman's head in the grass was a nice foreshadowing to S3..

i guess it was out of place when they showed him in new orleans and my binging must have missed the fact that was the guy who got away at the end of that episode.

Same here.

It's truly hilarious. It's nonstop.

Yeah that turned me off a bit and felt LARGELY out of place. He's always been the computer type dude, but now he's kicking more arse than Lucas all of a sudden? Nah.
Latter half of S2:
I like this Irish (?) assassin dude.
So stupid to just fight in the middle of the road. Any one of those truckers would call the cops. And of course he does in the silliest way possible.
And the diamonds are glass. Nice. Although I don’t know why Job assumes it’s Rabbit that fricked Lucas over. It could just as well be as Ana.
Ole Kai really doesn’t like his niece banging anybody else. But he’s all “make eye contact with me while I get this blowjob from a thick arse black chick.”
E7
Welp I no longer feel bad for Gordon. He’s wasting away at the strip coin while his son is dying at home and his daughter (ha) tries to call him.
She broke up a fight between the sheriff and the mayor? Wtf? Is he acting mayor or something like that?
E10
Okay, this shootout at the church is so overly ridiculous I found myself laughing at it multiple times. People on this show can just fire off thousands of rounds of ammo at each other and not be seen or heard b anybody. It's a church in New York...surely there are people around and calling the cops.
Lucas was about to charge at multiple gunmen with heavy machine guns.....with a knife. I did chuckle when they at least made a comment in the show about how absurd that was.
Holy shite a ton of shite happens in the last 10 mins of the season:
- Emmett and his wife dying was brutal. But unfortunately, avoidable. I get they were getting out of town, but damn.
- Rabbit offing himself. I’m glad that is over. That was getting too stupid with them not killing each other when they had the chance.
- Elizabeth offing Alex Longshadow and now is fully on board and wants Kai’s peen.
- Chayton is headed back.
- Deva knows Lucas is her dad.
- Job is staying in NY (I suspect that won’t last).
- A lot to unpack.

I’m so far ahead I don’t want to spoil anything. On Season 4 Ep 4 now. Season 3 is fricking wild. It cranks down the sex and cranks the brutality up to 11. I’m not sure what episode shite happened in I haven’t been taking notes but the Burton/Nola scene was brutal as frick, same with the siege of the Cadi. The end of season 3 is satisfying with some Louisiana thrown in. I will say that Season 4 Episode 1 is one of the most toned down episodes of the series but I loved it, it’s one of my favorites. Lots of intrigue and mystery which I like and even though I’m only on episode 4 I feel like it set the tone for the entire season.

I have always thought this was a mistake by the writers. There was absolutely no reason to kill them off. They could've easily rode off into the sunset. Nothing positive to the storyline by killing them.

You really are
fricked in the head.
I almost didn't shoot 'em
just so I could see you try
and pull that off.
ETA: I found this site that has full transcripts of tv shows. Thought that was cool

Just finished season 3.
Spoilers: where did my boobies go?
I guess things are getting a little too crazy for some boobs and chill right now.
I will say love it or hate it this show doesn't slow down.

ITS WEDNESDAY BITCHES!!!!
ok lets get it going..holy shite that fight with burton and the apache chick.
i did not read up on any spoilers ahead of time so i honestly had no idea how that was going to end.
i wonder if kai made burton pay for ripping the rolls hood ornament off.
and yes, on the heels of that we have the whole 'assault on precinct 13' scene. damn.
hood overraacted big time on kai. the real hood's loser son wasn't worth him getting this caught up with getting revenge. his own actions are why he's dead. does anyone doubt he would have kept fricking up if left alive?
kai was right. just leave him alone and let him take care of his dying mom.
i like the bunker character
i'll look forward to his career with great interest.
the whole storyline with 'kingpin' was funny
don't blame hood, the real hood's son would have eventually come to town and the travelling 18 wheeler would have followed.
the scene w/ burton and rebecca playing chicken was pretty awesome. too bad they couldn't get together as a couple; both are now stone cold psychos.
siobahns death was brutal. unfortunately i HAD seen something about her dying
so i didn't get to enjoy it not knowing how that was going to end.
job is no longer my favorite character. feel like the writers ruined him; he was way more fun in season 1 but his story has become tiresome.

Pelfrey plays some crazy characters. I like ho after all of the shite with the skinheads and the fact that they murdered Emmet and family. The BSD hires a "reformed" skinhead.
quote:

the dude was HUGE! "I can't even frick no more".
The rolling 18 wheeler office was pretty sweet. The door in the floor was a nice touch.

yeah, her descent into crazy town was fun.
i was actually hoping chayton's team would at least win one battle with Proctor.

the worst part of the show for me. Feels like the show fell off after that.
quote:

i may have mentioned it a time or 2 in other threads.
The empty/dead look in chayton's eyes.
also, they take out 4 marines mostly with a bow and arrow.

I'll just throw my comments in for basically all of S3, then respond to others...
The amount of ammunition these people go through is hilarious.
This white power dude applying for deputy is great. Yeah no concerns there. And of course Lucas loves him.
I love how everyone is fricking someone else now. That was quick.
Of course Rebecca is some badass now. Yeah okay.
Oh, a new total psycho bad guy army guy is in town? Yeah let’s frick him, Ana. Good call, Iguado.
Man Rebecca should throw a bone to Burton. Give him a pair of your panties or something like that. He keeps saving your arse and cleaning up your messes, and he’s clearly obsessed with you.
“This whole fake sheriff bullshite is getting in the way of your real job.”
Oh, a smoking hot kinaho chick cop? Of course. I assume Lucas will be fricking her in short order.
Brock’s ex old lady is the hospice nurse. Of course.
The violence is just plain comical at this point. And Nola going around kicking grown men’s asses is ridiculous. That fight with Burton was overly retarded (even if entertaining).
For people who are essentially at war, Kai sure as hell doesn’t seem to care much about security. He hired what, one or two guards?
I swear every single person on this show does their job as shitty as possible.
Didn’t they just get all the windows fixed from the last time someone shot up the Cadi? The amount of shootouts in the wide open that go unaccounted for in this show is hilarious. Even literal shootouts aimed at the fricking sheriff office.
And the fact that Chayton can all put assault a sheriff station for an hour and nothing happens or nobody responds.
I love that they let Kai just walk out the door.
There are several grown men in the basement without guns and the black chick assistant DA is toting a shotgun around.
Holy shite Chayton killed Siobhan. I am surprised. Although I wouldn’t been disappointed if he hadn’t bc he’s about that life.
So that’s the second deputy in what, a couple of days, that’s been executed. Seems like I don’t know, state police, the FBI, SOMEONE would come knocking in this little town that averages multiple homicides a day (and multiple officers killed.
Of course Brock’s ex wife fricks Kai. Right on par with everyone doing their job as terribly as possible.
I’m completely not buying into Rebecca being some badass girl boss. Not even remotely. And it sort of pisses me off that they expect me to. She is just completely unbelievable as a psychotic sociopath.
Lucas tags along with the FBI (tactical team?) and of course he beats them to Chayton and fricks it up. And of course he can’t just kill him.
And Chayton just got stabbed and a knife grinded into his leg. But then he just sprints off like it’s no big deal. Running and hopping and jumping through the woods.
Then Hood has the audacity to bitch at Aimee about “why didn’t you shoot him?” Bitch you could’ve shot him 37 times in the time it took for you to grind that knife into his leg.
This whole alternate reality dream thing where Lucas Hood never dies is weird and I don’t like it.
Chayton rises out of the water in the post credits scene with a new gunshot wound. Plus the stabbing in his leg. And he doesn’t even remotely give a shite.
So now Gordon is a fricking badass fighter? WTF? I can buy Carrie on this show, but unless doing hookers and blow secretly trains you in martial arts, Gordon should be getting his arse kicked.
And it’s about time to ship Deva off to military school. She’s an a-hole.
How stupid is this girl for helping Chayton? It’s the whole “frozen snake” metaphor in real time. Maybe he’ll keep her alive?
This whole heist feels messy. And the end fight with the dirty Colonel or whatever is weird. Lucas shoots him point blank three times with a shotgun. Even into his vest that should at least incapacitate him for a few minutes. Just weird and the switching back and forth between cameras and body cams, while cool, was disorienting as frick.
Yup. Chayton killed that lady. She's a fricking idiot.
I really love the Bunker character. Although I am still not sure if he is a plant or if he is truly a good person now. But that's half the fun.
The side story with Sugar and the boxer is weird. Sugar doesn’t seem to ever be into stealing from the crew, and now this? Just seems out of character a bit for him. Or almost feels like the writers were like "Hey, we need some cheap depth to Sugar's character since we haven't done that in three seasons so far..."
The shotgun to Chayton’s face was a nice touch. The CGI in this show is pretty terrible, but I at least applaud them for trying to make it graphic/brutal.
Chayton really was a great character. A true villain in every sense of the word.
This whole army base heist just feels so stupid. Like there would easily be way more security there, even if it was being shut down. Stowe isn't that stupid.
Okay, well I guess Bunker really is good since his brother just blowtorched his tattoos. Yikes.
Stowe putting Job, Carrie, and Sugar tied up in the same room is a huge mistake. He's too smart for that. But plot, I guess.
Gordon is some badass now? Okay. Dude is sniping dudes like he's playing Fortnite.
The flashbacks with Lucas are weird. But hey, there's the sheriff from Stranger Things.
Hector with the sword is pretty funny.
Solid finale, although them letting Job be kidnapped was egregiously sloppy. Every one of them knows better. But they had to set something up for S4 I guess.

Correct. That's why I said that. And I said the panties thing because of the one scene where he's sniffing the bed where she had sex with the Hood son. Burton is a freak.
