That wasn't anger.. it was a punch in the arm like hey good job... but with super strength.

TDK was not fun. It was rather boring in my view.

i'll say this

at no point in time during the avengers did i have that rush/release that i had during the huge chase scene, especially with the 18 wheeler flipping over at the climax

also, there was legit fear that batman couldn't save the day, and it came to fruition b/c he failed. he couldn't save rachel and harvey dent became 2-face. batman ended the movie as the bad guy. i didn't have that with the avengers

Good lord, Y'all lay off SFP. He didn't say anything bad about the movie. he just said he thought the hype was a little too much.

He didn't JUST say anything. he said everything, in a very negative/contradictive way, i.e. just being a general douchebag.

I did not like this chase scene. Something about it just doesn't appeal to me.

however, when CA said "Hulk...Smash." And Hulk gave him that grin, I had a huge rush. The smile on my face couldn't have gotten any bigger. It may have been bigger than when Yoda whipped out the lightsaber in AOTC.

At that point, I knew shite was about to get awesome.

The death of a character I did not care for did nothing for me or my view of Batman and his pain. And Harvey Dent turning into 2-face would have been better if the portrayal wasn't so comical. I couldn't take it seriously at all. That's not good for a movie that is supposed to be very serious.

And I've already discussed how stupid the ending with Batman being the villain was in another thread.

When I said this, it wasn't as bad as it gets later.

At that point, he was just defending himself against a bunch of fanboys.

I still think people need to lay off.

i know this won't come as a shock to anyone that i hated this. i remember getting death stares from a few moms in the crowd when i went "WHAT THE frick?" when i realized what was happening

yeah TDK has 2 main issues

1. too much in the movie. the joker and 2-face story lines needed more time to really hit their apex

2. weak arse ending battle. the sonar gimmick and the final showdown w joker were just WEAK

well i'll add that batman's main crush was ugly, too

couldn't help myself.

When I was growing up, I wanted to be a Jedi. I watched the Star Wars films constantly.

Hell, I'm 31 and I still want to be a Jedi.

Just seeing Yoda whip out the lightsaber, it turned me into a kid again.

Saw it lastnight and here are some random thoughts.

-Incredibly fun movie.
-They could have toned the one liners down a bit, but I didn't feel like it took away from anything. The failed ones weren't Michael Bay level humor bad, BW probably had the most whiffs. But her outfit made that pretty forgivable.
- Steve Rodgers is pretty boring, but Captain America still kicked some arse and even gave Loki a run for his money in a fight. Speaking of, I loved the scene where Iron Man showed up to help in Germany that was fun.
- They definitely hit a pretty long lull when they boarded the base, but the final fight scene more than made up for it.
-Thor's fight scenes with Hulk and Iron Man were great, but he was probably a little under used in the final battle.
- I could question how/why he was able to control Hulk, but who cares? Him wrecking shop was just awesome to watch. The scene with him and Loki was great.

I thought some of the single movies suffered to get to this point (especially Iron Man 2), but it ended up being worth it, Marvel and Wheldon exceeded my expectations and knocked it out of the park

I was reminded why I don't go to the movies that often, one black couple deemed it appropriate to bring a fricking baby in with them. I mean really? Idiots.

There was a baby in the one I went to as well.

I loved the movie though, and thought it was pretty badass. It is basically what summer popcorn flicks should be.

There were some bad points, #1 being Hulk's control of himself. I mean shite, they spent an hour of the movie telling us how dangerous the Hulk is and how he's all but impossible to control...so much so that Loki's main strategy was getting Banner to turn and just smash the flying base to pieces (which was working). Yet then, at the end, Banner shows up and is like "Hey guys, I'm good now...let's do this.." I didn't like that at all. But that being said, it didn't really bother me too much at all really. #2 was that the nuke should've easily gone off before Tony got it through the portal (and all the way to the rocks and ships and shite)..that kinad bugged me, but not too bad. #3 was that he was in space (sort of), and lets go of the rocket, and then starts "falling" back into the portal. Shouldn't he not fall? I just figured maybe the portal was sucking him back in or some shite. So really, my main gripes with the movie didn't really bother me too badly.

The one-liners were kinda stupid at times, but that's to be expected. And some of them were actually funny.

Hulk and Thor's fight was pretty cool. And the scene with Hulk and Loki at the end in Stark's place was great.

I could've completely done without hawkeye and Black Widow though. I never read the comics, so I don't know how important they are to the Avengers, but I felt like they were completely out of place. Same with Captain America really, but I know he is one of the main guys. I agree that they did a decent job of making CA, BW, and HE "count" since they aren't really in the same category as Hulk or Thor (or even Ironman once he's in the suit). I liked the "Let's put HE up on the roof and do some recon" angle (though I just can't seem to like Jeremy Renner for some reason). And CA was needed to kinda bring the team together, so that was cool. So I guess really BW was kinda useless to me. She looked good though, so I'll allow it.

Also, I'd like to give props to Loki. I thought the dude playing him did a really solid job, and he stole most of the scenes he was in. And I thought he was a great villain.

All in all, this movie was fun as shite, and kudos to Marvel for creating their plan and sticking to it. I didn't really like all of the "setup" movies (any of them really...even Iron Man is overrated IMO - albeit the best of the bunch though), but the end product of The Avengers paid off really well.

Perkins Rowe lastnight? Seriously who the frick brings a baby to a movie that loud and even sits it in the front few rows? Idiots.

And yeah I thought Loki was better in this, I didn't really like him in Thor. His motives were kind of lame, but he still played it well. He did basically get his arse whipped in every fight though.

Question: would that fall have even killed Thor?

I agree with most of what you said. I knew literally nothing about the avengers minus what I had seen in the individual movies so I went in not really having any expectations.

I feel like I spent most of the movie comparing the characters "worth" and outside of Thor, Ironman, and Hulk, the other 3 were pretty disposable. Or at least thats the conclusion I came to. If this was an IRL situation, the other 3 would have died pretty much the second the aliens or whatever came through the portal but its a comic superhero movie so I'll deal.

I also could have done without the same ending as independence day but hey, whatever.

Is cap stronger in the comics? Did they tone his strength down a bit for the movie because they didn't want another hero that's pretty unstoppable ?

Nah, Perkins Rowe at 1:40 on Saturday. But there was at least one baby (as in infant) in there then too. I was pissed at first, but it was on the other side of the theater from me, it didn't cry until like over an hour into it, and the parent(s) immediately walked down with it. So I wasn't too pissed, but it still made me want to slap the parents.
