Oh, frick off. Let's not act like it's impossible to stay in touch with friends from high school.

I agree with this, but my issue it was still forced.
what was forced with it? a therapy session showing how people are coping with what has happened makes perfect sense. one of the members of said session is gay.
none of this is forced. it certainly makes a hell of a lot more sense than all of the female heroes magically appearing at the same place at the same time in the midst of a massive battle on an expansive battlefield.

You don't know every person on your Facebook friends list. Sorry not sorry.

I saw it yesterday evening. Overall, I really enjoyed the film. The time travel issue and how they do it creates some holes to me, but it's all theoretical anyway. I probably need to see it again.
I do have a question if anyone knows this, but who is the guy way back in the funeral crowd standing by himself before you get to Nick Fury?

The kid from Iron Man 3. Same actor too.
I had to look it up.

What confused me about the funeral scene is how one of the kids with Hawkeye looks Asian. What am I missing there?

Maybe she got with an Asian dude while Hawkeye was away?

The gay people that you went to high school with, worked with, are in your extended family... that are on social media. You don't know them?
If you went with 2% of the population being gay (which is a low estimate), you'd only have to know 400 people to know 8 gay people.
Unless you were homeschooled, have no extended family, didn't go to college, and went to work for a company that doesn't hire gay people, you know gay people.

can't understand why anyone would be upset with Anthony Mackie becoming Captain America. They made it obvious that Steve had discussed it prior with Bucky. Both as the character as an actor, Mackie has been top-notch. Plus, he's from New Orleans.
Yeah, good pick.
The way they groomed his beard made him look like a shrunken head in that last scene tough

Joe Russo (co-director as an openly gay character) in the therapy session as a definite SJW agenda with no other plot reason (as they've said in interviews) wasn't out of place to you?
Didn’t even catch it

Friend of the family? Adoption? Previous marriage? Sidekick from his Asian murder spree? Souvenir from Budapest?

And is it that far out of place to believe a gay guy in New York City is in a therapy session 5 years after half of the population disappeared?

When did I say I didn't know gay people? I have known quite a large number of gay people in the past, because a guy I used to hang out with would always bring his one night stands around. I also waited tables for 10 years, and there is a large presence of gay guys in that profession. I would not say I still "know" those people though, even if we are connected on Facebook. I guess we have a different definition of "knowing" someone. What you are describing, in my mind, is that you "used to know" someone. Just because you associated with someone in the past means nothing.
Your 2% number isn't very low, actually. It's about 3.8% in actuality (including all "LGBT" individuals, not just gay guys). 2% for just gay guys is probably high. Our perception of how many "LGBT" people exist is skewed by how massively over-represented they are in entertainment.

That would make sense. He has his hand on the kid like they're family, but neither he nor his wife look Asian and I don't recall the kids at the beginning of the film looking Asian. Maybe I didn't get a good look at the older son at the start of the movie.

As far as a portion of my mind dissecting the scene as I watched it: I was more focused on him being Joe Russo and his acting ability. I was thinking that he was doing a decent job for a director.

I haven't been very thrilled with the MCU version of the Falcon, so it definitely lessened my excitement about Captain America moving forward, but I really don't care who holds the shield if I'm being honest. I'm sure the decision was made by whoever is working on the Falcon/Winter Soldier show they have coming out on Disney+.

i'm not upset about falcon becoming captain america. I just thought i had read that bucky was the one. And it seemed to fit since bucky seems a lot stronger than falcon.

This
Falcon has kind of got his arse kicked a lot, so while he may have been a loyal friend to Cap that doesn't really make him the best candidate to take up the shield.
