Where do you live that there are lots of gay people? They aren't a significant part of our population as a whole.

Where did I say lots? I know probably 8-10 gay people and a few of them are huge Braves fans.

Do you really think no gay people like sports? Wtf

Also, it was the Mets

Y'know, I thought Mets and then was sure I was wrong and corrected myself.

I do think there are gay guys out there who like sports. None of the ones I've ever met or associated with, but yes I'm sure they do exist.

I literally didnt even mind it at all watching it, till I saw the article with Joe Russo saying that put it in just to push the agenda and how "important it was to history" Give me a break. Then it aggravated me. At the time it didn't bother me. Now it does.

Not sure how what you're saying is different from what I'm saying.

He said it was to show support. Not to push an agenda.

8-10 out of the hundreds/thousands of people I know isn't "lots". I know 2 from high school, 1 from college (if bi counts), and at least 5-6 just from living in Montgomery the last 9 years.

shite, one of them literally just posted a picture wearing a St. Louis Cardinals t-shirt.

The moment is extremely subtle, but according to the Russo brothers, it's also groundbreaking. "Representation is really important," Joe Russo told Deadline. "It was important to us as we did four of these films, we wanted a gay character somewhere in them."

This is pushing an agenda. They thought from the very beginning now 7 years ago they were somehow going to shoehorn a gay character in the franchise

I can tell some of you think I'm a bigot, and that's not it at all, I have no issue myself with homosexuality. My point is this is: Putting something in a movie that has little to no bearing on the plot, to "represent a group of people" and no other reason is by definition, an agenda and I just don't think it's a good creative process. I get why they did it, to show that all types of people were affected. Was it necessary? No. I think people are smart enough to know that the Snap affected everyone, gay, trans, straight w/e. (Half of all existence is pretty clear) Do I get why they did it? Yes.

The Girl Power scene was just as bad but less subtle. If you don't like that scene, this is literally the same thing, just handled differently.

/end rant

Can you expand on this agenda? Is it more recruitment or world domination?

You are misinterpreting my statement. I'm saying that what he is presenting is not different from what I originally said, which is that it is highly unlikely that two gay guys on a first date would be talking about how much they miss baseball. The topic of conversation is why I was sure it was a guy talking about his dad the first time I saw the film.

To answer your question, I could easily think of 8 gay guys I've known if we're expanding it to an entire lifetime as the other poster is doing. That isn't what I typically think of when someone says "they know this many gay people." I would typically think of that statement in a present sense, as the statement is a present tense statement.

You're assuming I don't still know them. Social media makes it really easy to stay in touch.

What if they both mentioned baseball in their Grindr profile?

I’m not talking about the choice. Give Falcon the shield.

But THEN have freaking Bucky, the guy Captain America turned the world upside down to save creating the plot that led to the schism allowing Thanos to win, yeah THAT GUY...the best friend in the world Cap traded EVERYTHING for...have Cap at least say “it was worth it brother” and hug him as his last words.

That was a colossal screwup to miss that opportunity

I think Cap's relationship with Sam and Bucky will be explored further in the Falcon and Winter Soldier series on Disney+. I think Cap and Bucky had a one on one conversation before Cap left and I think Cap maybe even offered him Captain America's post, but he turned it down.

Honestly it felt like a pretty natural way to have a gay character without it feeling too forced.

I agree with this, but my issue it was still forced.

It would be fairly easy to see why baseball would come up on a date. It's be as easy as the first guy starts tearing up, the second guy asking what he misses most, the first guy replies "baseball" trying to lighten the mood. Suddenly they start talking about baseball for 5 minutes.

This would require Chris Evans to return to the roll. I don't think that will be happening.

It's a movie with a script. Everything is forced.

Well I guess if we're talking about guys who would cry over no more baseball then it definitely becomes more believable that they're gay guys.
