How is Inglorious Basterds a Holocaust film? It's a Jewish revenge fantasy, which let's face it, we have NOT seen.
I think the use of language as a character in IB is absolutely terrific. The opening scene is perhaps one of the best scenes in any movie. Just a brilliant, tense opener. I was inclined to hate the movie, as I've hated everything Tarantino has done since Jackie Brown, but the movie blew my doors off.
the meta-commentary of the German audience reacting to a German propaganda film was nothing short of genius, seeing as the American audience had spent a good two hours torturing Germans.

The key award is best director. The winner's film usually goes on to win best picture.

Cliff notes, who has won what.

Well Inglorious Bastards wasn't a Holocaust film but it was basically about the plight of the Jews which is something I don't really care for. Why aren't there any films about the Armenian genocide or the atrocities committed by the Japanese during World War II? It's always about the Nazis and Jews. I'm just tired of it.

Who else is getting bored with this? There are too many awards...

Oh, it's the five actors for the five nominees thing again. What a wretched idea.

Do some research and write a script. Maybe you can convince Tony Scott to direct it.

Short version.
"Blah blah blah.... Jeff Bridges was better in the movie *I* was in."

I fricking hate George Clooney

Again, I liked it much better when they just had the winner of the opposite sex from the previous year present the award. It's so much more efficient that way.

Avatar getting visual effects was a given....but was hoping for Star Trek. O well.

STFU people and just present the award already. Geez.

Hate his politics, but love his acting.

And now acting legend Colin Farrell

I like Clooney the actor, not Clooney the left wing looney. He makes great movies even if he is an aging hippie liberal douchebag
