Following buzz earlier this month that trouble was brewing for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series that was being developed for Disney+, Collider is reporting that the series has been put on hold "indefinitely" as Lucasfilm develops the series.
quote:
According to their sources, the scripts for the series weren't up to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy's standards and once the scripts are rewritten, production could resume. As Lucasfilm never officially confirmed when the series would head into production, this is surely disheartening news, as we don't know when production could start and a subsequent release date could be announced, but it would seem that the studio is more focused on delivering the best story possible than potentially disappointing fans who have been waiting years for the project.
Everyone is excited for that Cassian Andor series though, right?

Because you don't like the entertainment products she puts out?
You should probably gain some perspective in life.

Hopefully they fire Kathleen Kennedy. Her incompetence has gone on far too long.

Kennedy is ensuring that audiences will soon associate girl power led projects with total crap. So far, it has a track record of 100% crap.

Yeah, people were saying it was a fake site spreading the news. I knew there was some truth to it. Apparently, McGregor isn't happy with the direction.

It's just a TV show. It'll be okay.

Ya that's not very clear.
Was he not happy with what Kathleen wants or are they on the same page?

If Kennedy has to eat a bowl of shite for the bad projects, she certainly has to get credit for the good ones.
If any future Star Wars television productions are anything like The Mandelorian, I’m sure this will be okay.

quote:No, it's further signs that the Lucasfilm division of Disney is in need of an overhaul.

Disney paid 4 billion for basically the Star Wars franchise, and ILM. This was supposed to be a well-oiled machine, printing money hand over fist.
Their sequel trilogy floundered, their Stories movies are stillborn now.
Disney brought in Feige from the Marvel side, he hit a home run with The Mandalorian... and there was no merchandise in place. Disney is suing people on Etsy over Baby Yoda, because that was the only way you get a Christmas gift for the kids.
Disney expected there to be some Star Wars stuff to prop up Disney+. This stuff should have been ready.

At least, that is the prevailing wisdom
