This sounds like Rise of Skywalker is going to great!

The Death Star was an effective weapon once they were built and would last if it weren't for hidden flaws.
There was a ton of internal debate in the Empire on how much resources it took up vs how effective it was. The main argument against it was how many fleets of Tie Defenders could have been constructed for a fraction of what the Death Star cost.

It would be hard for me to take part in doing something I didnt agree with.
It's probably a challenge to an actor if your heart isnt in what you're describing on screen. I know money is often the motivator..makes you question yourself though. What's the point of passion?
Using your talents, which will be forever remembered/immortalized, to progress a story that is dictated by a writer/director's take on current issues which has nothing to do with star wars' universe.
I dont know..feel like I could smoke a bowl with Edward Norton and find myself in agreement with how he handles a lot of it.

In Boyega's case, he was committed before TFA. By the time TLJ rolled around, I don't think he had a choice. His character was there and couldn't be pulled out. I'm sure his contract did not give an out.
SW is too valuable a franchise to risk renegotiating with actors film to film.

Personally, I think a StormTrooper turned Jedi would have made for a far more compelling story than Rey.
Going into TFA, I kind of thought that was what we were going to see. That the Force was going to "awaken" in certain people across the galaxy since the Jedi & Sith were gone outside of the Skywalkers.
A former StormTrooper suddenly becomes self aware, defects, realizes that the force is with him, and rises to take on the First Order while taking Luke's place as the top Jedi would've been a really good storyline and a lot more compelling than Rey. I mean, it kind of writes itself and is a fresh take while also mimicking the OT. Hell...it even works seamlessly if you are trying to find a SJW angle.
Glad to see that Boyega basically confirms that Hamill hated TLJ.

Yeah, but I have the luxury of an outsider's perspective lol

Probably because his character had an intriguing start in TFA and the Rose character ruined him in TLJ.

I enjoyed Knives Out, but the Immigration "THIS LAND BELONGS TO US" shite gave insight into how simplistic and uninformed he is about the world of real life

I get it. I always wonder what it's like for an actor like Boyega. They're contractually obligated to a series, and they're in.
What's it like to get a script you think is a turd and know there's nothing you can do about it?

I can understand his reluctance to initially speak up - he's young, this is the role of a lifetime for a lot of actors, and probably doesn't want to seem ungrateful.
At the same time he was uncomfortable with what they were doing.
Kind of like getting a job that pays well and helps you take care of your family, but something about it feels shady. Puts in you a rough spot.

What race do you think Billy Dee Williams is?

I just thought it was lazy to have another Death Star.
