Original noble Splinter who was a pet of Hamato Yoshi is the goat Splinter and should never be changed.

Original cartoon origin was that he was a mutated Hamato Yoshi, though you’re correct that he was his pet in the comics and the live action movie.

It’s crazy they got Jackie Chan to voice Splinter and then have him not actually be an amazing martial artist.

I liked invincible. I lost interest in The Boys after season 1.

Why are they doing that shitty animation? It looks awful like a 12 year old drew it.

My wife got motion sickness had a massive headache and had to lay down when we got home.

I googled it and sure enough - motion sickness is a thing with this movie due to the shitty animation.

It didn’t bother me, but when the film started I immediately noticed the motion was way off. Not smooth at all.

And yeah - they ruined it. Would not recommend.

Even getting past the race swapped body positivity April, why do they gender swap multiple villains? What purpose does it serve? You're nostalgia baiting the adults to take their kids to see something you won't even recognize.

I didn't get sick, but it did make me nauseated. Especially in the beginning. It was choppy as hell.

90+ on RT by critics and audience. I think I'll check this out with kids and ignore this review

Saw it yesterday.

It was much better than I was expecting. Wife, 6 year old, and I all enjoyed it.

I'd recommended this for anyone.

It did just get an A CinemaScore, so audiences are enjoying it

The audience score is 92 on Rotten Tomatoes. This board is a terrible barometer of how good a movie is or isn't lol.

This is stupid. There's a pretty clear distinction for why people on this board don't like it. General audiences don't give a shite about source material or canon. Most of them don't even know it. So it makes sense people that do don't like the changes. Maybe that doesn't make it a "bad" movie, but it's easy to see why turtle fans wouldn't enjoy it for certain reasons.

depends on which “source material” you’re a turtle fan of.

because the original show probably had way more fans than the comics and they’re pretty different products.

And they made Master Splinter just Splinter and he's a straight dumb arse in the movie. He's human-phobic and is just an awful character. They turned him into a bumbling idiot.

This is where filmmakers are fricking up. They seem to be compelled to take beloved characters from decades ago and do outlandish things with them.

That’s why everyone hates the Star Wars ST. If they had just kept Luke true to form, everything else could have been by the numbers and people would have loved it.

Seriously though? What source material in all of the previous versions made Master Splinter a bumbling, white bread, dumb arse, almost incapable of existing without the TMNT's taking care of him? I'll wait.

That's great. I didn't post my opinion to stop anyone from seeing it. I was pretty clear as to why I hated it.

If you know nothing about the TMNT's, it wasn't a horrible movie outside of the shaky animation. Frumpy April being repeatedly referred to as "hot" however, was egregious.

This is just a cop out to complain about a movie that was made different than the way you wanted. This is like complaining that Jaoquin Phoenix's Joker was completely different from Heath Ledgers or Jack Nicholson's portrayal.

Why reboot anything at all?? Let's just never reboot franchisees ever again.

compare the TMNJ comics to the original shows and that’s how the turtles look.

Comics: incredibly violent and dark
Show: for small children to sell action figures.
