It's not. Tried watching 5 minutes and it's full of every modern dogshit trope.

White Women - smarter than everyone else, no matter what their age, experience or situation

White dudes - bad and dumb, need to be refined to white woman's view.

Hollywood is incapable of writing comedy any longer in any fashion.

John Larroquette carried the 1st 2 shows. I like how he is the public defender instead of prosecutor just so it differs from the original. It has a chance to stick around a while just because of him and if they keep the wacky court stuff funny.

I do not like the bailiff. The fat black woman tough guy character checks off a box but is overdone on tv and just not funny.

How does that take away from his point?

Disagree. Roz (Marshall Warfield) was not some obese loudmouth that is seen in shows and movies way too often. She was bigger woman, but she was by no means obese. She was the tough, soft spoken type on Night Court and perfect for offsetting Bull.

She was hilarious.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there:

She is about 5'6" and was never under 200 pounds during Night Court, IIRC.

I agree with the rest of your point about the character.

I enjoyed the first two episodes and didn’t see much wokeness but I also wasn’t looking for it. I liked that they kept the same format and similar characters. We’ll see how it develops

I didn’t find the first two episodes that good, not that funny. Laugh track constantly going off was annoying.

Melissa Rauch joined the cast as Abby Stone, the daughter of Judge Harry Stone from the original series.

Watching the first episode.

It's fairly generic as far as sitcoms go.

John Larroquette is still great so it's possible he might be able to carry it long enough for the rest of the cast and writers room to gel.

We watched the first two shows. They were pretty bad and I don’t care for any of the characters.

I changed my mind. The last two episodes were hot garbage and the fact that they changed Dan Fielding from a ladies man who would sleep with anything that could walk to a feeble, awkward man who doesn't know how to talk to women was the last straw. This show blows.

Watched the pilot. Snickered once.

Melissa Rauch's non-Bernadette voice (aka her real one) is awful.

The bailiff is easily the worst character.

Yeah that was just weird how they did that. Not in a hurry to get back to dating after your wife died, ok. Not as smooth as you used to be, ok. Being a bumbling fool and basically scared to talk to women, come on.

This show has possibilities but they need to change the bailiff and the prosecutor (they’ve already done two shows on how she doesn't want to be friends with people and it’s not funny) and they need to let Dan Fielding be Dan Fielding. He won so many Emmy awards playing that character he finally had to tell them to take him off the list. Why totally get away from that?

One thing that does make me laugh is that they made the cast of this show as diverse as possible, but I think the writers are scared to put a black person as a defendant. I don’t think there has been one so far.

It looks like a United Colors of Benetton ad from 1986.

Marsha Warfield is 5’ 11”

You’re thinking she’s shorter because a lot of folks on that show were tall.
