Melissa Rauch's non-Bernadette voice (aka her real one) is awful.

I don't know if I hate her voice, or if I just can't picture her sounding like anyone other than Bernadette and it's just causing my brain to shift without a clutch.

Finally watched a clip. Eh. Should probably give a full episode a try before making a judgement call but I dunno now.

I watched the pilot and thought it was fairly okay.

The nostalgia factor brought on by the theme music and the old sets is strong, I'll say that.

Seeing Dan Fielding again is a lot of fun, but the show dips when neither he nor Bernadette are on screen.

I enjoyed it, but I'm not at all compelled to carry on watching.

This show may not make to to next season. The assistant DA and bailiff are getting way too much time on screen.

Also, still no black defendants.

Not so fast. Apparently this abortion on wheels inexplicably just got picked up for Season 2.

A few episodes in. It's fun, light fair (as the original was). A ton of sentimentality hanging over it, as Judge Harry is on their minds in every episode so far. It ain't great, but something decent to wind down to before you go to bed. The cast is okay, but no standout characters (as Dan was in the original). Dan is now a sleezy, competitive curmudgeon instead of a sleezy, competitive horndog. But then I don't want to watch a show about a horny swordsman in his mid-70's. The jokes are still inappropriate, that's a plus.

Has the bailiff gotten even remotely watchable?

She's just there. She has the niceness of Bull, but there's no "big monster of a guy turns out to be a softie" thing going. She's just there.

I have only seen a few episodes. The flow is like the old show.

Apparently it went super woke this week and went after Christopher Columbus:
quote:

#NightCourt NBC. Tonight they went woke. The show was about a guy who defaced a statue but everyone was torn because Christopher Columbus was a bad man. On the bright side I saw the ratings for the show and they have been going down every week. The show will be cancelled soon

quote:

"No one is saying that Christopher Columbus is good. He and I have very different opinions on how you should make friends when you are new in town."

The ratings have decreased for the 5th straight week and are in a freefall:
quote:

NBC | Night Court (with 3.7 million total viewers and a 0.5 demo rating) dipped for a fifth straight time since its debut; American Auto (1.8 mil/0.2) hit lows; and La Brea (2 mil/0.2, Hey Levi!) matched its previous episode’s series lows.

NBC may have pulled the trigger on a Night Court renewal a bit too quickly.

The revival continued to lose steam this week.

Night Court Season 1 Episode 6 had 3.7 million total viewers and a 0.5 rating -- marking a new series low among total viewers.

The series started last month with 7.6 million viewers, but the series has been shedding around 500,000 viewers each week over the last few episodes.
