Rogue Squadron is pretty exciting. Anything like the X-Wing combat we get in Rogue One will win me over.

They will film it, not like it, fire the director, hire Ron Howard, film 85 percent of it again, balloon the budget up to $400 million in reshoots, and be unable to turn a profit even after grossing $1.1 billion. It’s the Kennedy way.

What time period is this set in? Is this supposed to be a film about the OG Rogue Squadron? Ok fine, how you gonna do Luke and Wedge? They gonna be CGI characters? Or are they gonna be offscreen the whole time and other characters just refer to them occasionally. I just don't see how you can do Rogue Squadron justice without Luke and Wedge and you can't use the original actors and no other actor can do.

Yeah, Rogue Squadron is big enough for them not to get involved. It’d be like asking having a movie based in the Pacific and not having James Doolittle involved. It’s much bigger than those two characters.

I'm not a huge SW lore buff so I might not have all the info possible regarding Rogue Squadron, I mostly know of it from video games, but it didn't seem all that particularly large to me, a few dozen people? And it seems like Luke and Wedge as the commanders were involved in everything important they ever did, both planning the missions and leading them.

Sebastian Stan as Luke. Make it happen. I’m sure Hamill would have no issue with this.

Could be before they came on, or even after the events of the original trilogy. I don’t see why they necessarily have to be part of it.

Explain to me Patty Jenkins career.

She wrote and directed Monster....which is an alright film.

And then essentially directed an episode of a TV show every 3 years until she got the Wonder Woman movie. How would she even get that movie? How does that work? Who is sitting at the producers meeting of Wonder Woman and goes "Yall remember that movie from 15 years ago where Charlize Theron was super ugly?"

This got a downvote for what i can only assume is someone thinking im saying "pfft....unqualified woman got a job cause shes a woman"

Im not. I honestly have no idea how hollywood works.

So basically years after throwing out all the good stories like Thrawn and Rogue squadron Disney is back to bringing it back to try and salvage things. Good lord. Should have just done that from the get go.

Should have. Adapt Thrawn stories as the sequel, and people would be happy.

Same answer that explains Colin Trevorrow’s career. Where the frick did he come from to direct a new JP trilogy?

Because I don’t get who that fricker knows to get franchise tent pole money and creative control.
