This isn't a James Gunn movie.
Yes it is, just like every MCU film is a Kevin Feige film.

I’m sick of overbudgeted superhero films.
You should probably stop watching them then.

Or....you could just stop watching them.

No one is you and me and everyone else. We say Marvel movies are trash. We may even say Disney movies are trash. We never say Kevin Feige movies are trash.

It’s not super secret insider knowledge that Gunn dipped on a meeting with the new boss. You mock about knowing him personally but then double down when he answers your question.
Just admit defeat and sulk away.

Not saying you're wrong, but how do you know Gunn wasn't a part of it?

Sporting jeans and a dark polo T-shirt, Ellison spoke for about 45 minutes in person to senior leadership (about 150 staffers) in the lot’s Steven J. Ross Theatre. In attendance were motion picture heads Pamela Abdy and Michael De Luca, Warner Bros. TV Group chief Channing Dungey, HBO’s Casey Bloys, head of streaming JB Perrette and DC Studios co-head Peter Safran, among others. More than 300 executives watched via a webcast from U.S. and international locations.

As much as I love Milly, I'm superheroed out. Please Hollywood come up with something new. Just seems like a lazy effort to make some money

She’s a solid draw. But as we saw with Harley Quinn, or even WW 1984, it takes a decent script and story to sell tickets.

Milly Alcock on what she learned from Game of Thrones about potential fan backlash to Supergirl:
"It definitely made me aware that simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on. We have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women’ s bodies. I can’t really stop them. I can only be myself.”

Milly Alcock on what she learned from Game of Thrones about potential fan backlash to Supergirl:
Andy Weir gives hours and hours of interviews and all that they push is, "yeah, I'd consider doing a Hail Mary sequel" and "Star Trek sucks".

Milly Alcock’s mind was working overtime. “I kept getting these crazy dreams—this image of me at the foot of a tsunami,” she says from the safety of her couch in London. It must have been the tidal wave that comes with starring as a canonical superhero. “Of course I’m scared,” she says. “Of course I want people to like me and the movie. But ultimately, it’s out of my control.”
After a cameo appearance in last year’s Superman, Alcock gets top billing as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. “She’s given this incredible responsibility and doesn’t know how to deal with it,” says Alcock. “So she kind of suffocates herself and goes on a journey of self-discovery.” It was only when production ended—and her tsunami nightmares abated—that Alcock realized: “That’s me, man. I’m the mess.” Or rather, she used to be: “I’m not the mess anymore.”
quote:
On directors like Scorsese saying superhero movies suck: “Whenever a new wave comes along, there’s going to be criticism towards it,” says Alcock. “Not every film is for everyone. The beauty of art is that you can be selective about your taste.”

I'm going to be controversial here and just talk about the trailers that I have seen and the movie itself. I wasn't too hyped about the "rebel" drunk Supergirl that has previously been shown. This trailer actually has me a little interested in this film. It hit some emotional notes with her looking for a place in the world. And being a dog lover, the scene of her trying to save the one thing that she loves hit a little home as I've been there.. That and the possibility of Mamoa being a fun ride as Lobo has me feeling a little more excited for the possibility it may be a good film. We shall see.
