ETA: final trailer

trailer

After Task, we have this to look forward to. Debuts on 10/26

quote:

Derry, Maine, may have the facade of a quaint, picturesque town, but with Pennywise lurking below, its residents would likely argue otherwise.

The new trailer for HBO‘s IT: Welcome to Derry, starring and executive produced by Bill Skarsgård in his return as the terrifying killer clown, gives viewers another terrifying glimpse at what they’re in for when the prequel series hits the small screen next month.

“Do you think somebody could kidnap a kid and keep him underground? In the sewers?”

If the trailer is any indication, viewers are in for a pretty disturbing ride in this 9-episode series. One this is for sure, as the trailer teases: “Something bad is coming.”

Looking forward to this one.

I really enjoyed when Hulu did Castle Rock and it was elements of the King universe, so I can definitely see potential here with the extension of the It universe specifically (prequel).

Really excited to see Chris Clark as Dick Hallorann. He's probably one of my favorite underrated actors after seeing him as Fox in Gotham and then later in Perry Mason (HBO). Glad to see him continue to get roles after PM was cancelled.

Castle Rock was loads of fun. They pulled the plug too soon.

Wait, Dick Hallorann was in The Shining. Didn't see or hear the reason for using the same character so curious if this is same universe or what?

Really wish they would've started this in mid to late September instead of October 26th..damne near the end of spooky season. Been waiting for this for a long time.

Great show. Yeah it’s a shame we aren’t getting a third season

So it's like a dozen different Stephen King books cramped into a mini-series about Pennywise?

well since the show isnt out yet there's no way to say, but i doubt it. most of SK's books exist in the same universe, and there are often small references to people and places from other books. Dick Halloran was mentioned in IT during a story about a club known as the Black Spot that was burned down. Shawshank is mentioned a few times as well as it pertains to different characters that had served time there.

It’s being billed as a prequel to IT. But all of King’s books have had character pop up or get mentioned.

That looks pretty good. I thought they would go back to 1714 like the movie alluded to. Also, the black population of Maine in 1962 was .34% most of whom would have lived in Portland or Bangor, not a sleepy tiny town. Does Hallaran have the shine in this one? Couldn't tell.

....right...so, like i said, there will likely be a lot of references to other SK works in the show. that doesnt mean that they're cramping other entire SK books into a show about Pennywise, which what your first post said.
