You guys railed for a long time that DCU could do its own thing and they didn't need a template?

It's hard to say really without seeing the movie yet what if anything failed. i stand by my original feelings that it would have been impossible for the DCU to do the same things as Marvel due to TDKT just being released. When your most popular character just had a very popular trilogy and the only way for you to include him in your universe is to reboot him, it makes it difficult to sell solo films for him so soon. Maybe it's just as simple as bringing in too many characters like WW and DD. Personally I think it has more to do with how the characters are presented rather than how many characters are introduced. Maybe it's just that the movie is bad from a story aspect. Maybe it's all of the above. Who knows really. shite, maybe WB is just being overly cautious right now. Maybe this guy is full of shite. It's impossible to determine right now. To be continued...

We've had one reviewer (who hasn't seen the movie) say that he heard Warner was concerned. One. Immediately, everyone runs around screaming that the sky is falling.

Take it with a grain of salt because it's El Mayimbe, but he's saying all these reports are complete BS. WB has not screened it for anyone yet.

Fair enough. Just a funny thing to say after all of those discussions.

And again, I think the floor for this film is $1 billion. It will be successful. However, I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing in terms of the creative team driving this....

Well, if WB is not confident about the product, I think it is call for concern. This "one guy" is stating what has occurred from a number of screen test where multiple people were present and have seen the film. This is not one guys opinion of the film. And yes, I am concerned. This movie is EXTREMELY important to the DCU. Now you can say he might lying. Fine. But if you are not at least a little concerned about the movie's success, I think you should be. The writing is on the wall. It's not even about if you or I like the movie. It's about the masses. There is more at stake here than just one movie.

I like Mcweeny, I just found the timing of all this to be very odd. A trailer comes out that everyone is loving and all of a sudden he comes out and says "oh by the way, it's not testing very well."

Some others are jumping into this as well. From Joblo:

@UnitedNews293 @smichaelmadden @JimViscardi @GreggNathan And I’ve heard from my own unnamed sources that it’s great. So, who do you believe?

Affleck is at his heart a comic book nerd. I'm excited to see him play the role. As for his acting chops, dude was the bomb in phantoms, yo.

it bothers me that my direct response to you on the next page isn't considered a response...

Me too. What I'm trying to say is he's so well known for so long, and even in his roles the guy's not exactly known for vanishing into them like a DDL or someone.

Cavill was mostly an unknown, the way Christopher Reeve was before him. For nearly everyone, those guys ARE Superman first. Affleck is simply playing Batman.

I think he's gonna be great at it and I liked the casting from the start for the reason I was saying...but my only issue was not being able to completely let go and believe him as Bats.

Are you talking about him being a comics guy? Yeah...also a big selling point. I think a quality actor can obviously play the role without being one, but as with any well known character that comes with it a reverence if the actor REALLY knows and loves the character. They won't want to see it done shoddily and will truly want the final product to be worthy of the character they fell in love with.

I've sent this trailer to a pretty good number of my non-comic friends and they are much more excited for the movie. Hopefully that's a good sign. I guess after three trailers WB was bound to get one right.

I have a question about the Batman v Superman trailer.

What does he say at the end? "Do you know what the oldest lie in America is?"

Power can be ________

innocent?

I have always heard it as " power can be an incentive".

I was hoping one person would acknowledge the Kevin Smith reference. Has kevin Smith made a comment about Afflek in the movie yet?

As for none of you responding to my phantoms quote:

frick, frick, frick, frick,
Mother, mother frick
Mother, mother frick, frick
Mother frick, mother frick
noise noise noise
1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4,
Noise, noise noise
Smokin' weed, smokin' wizz,
Doin' coke, drinkin' beers
Drinkin' beers, beers, beers,
Rollin' fattys, smokin' blunts,
Who smokes the blunts?
We smoke the blunts.
Rollin' blunts and smokin'...

Teen: Uh, let me get a nickel bag.

Fifteen bucks, little man,
Put that shite in my hand,
If that money doesn't show,
Then you owe me, owe me, owe,
My jungle love, yeah,
Owe-ee, owe-ee, owe,
I think I want to know ya, know ya,

Everything looks great except for that annoying eisenberg. I seriously can't stand that kid. They seriously couldn't have gotten anyone better? I just hope he don't ruin the movie.

I dont think Nolan ever wanted to do a justice league movie. So, they never built up a story to be able to introduce all of the characters in separate films.

Now, DC sees the success by Marvel and has to play catch up. This is why they are jamming all of their heros/villians into two movies before the justice league.

Don't think it will work, but I really hope I am wrong and they can pull it off.
