Netflix raises monthly prices on all of its US plans; here’s how much you’ll pay
quote:

Netflix’s most popular plan, previously $10.99 a month for two HD streams, will rise to $12.99. The cheapest $7.99 non-HD plan will now be $8.99, while the premium option that allowed four simultaneous streams in 4K will rise to $15.99 from $13.99.

Meh, still worth it IMO.

For those that pay for the 4K, is it worth it? Just bought a 4K TV

HD is $4 more? Seems like a rip off.

No, they need more 4K programming

For the 4k no, I have it mainly because it's the one with the most users that can watch at one time I believe

i bet their next move will be to 'tighten up' on simultaneous streams.

Ding-ding-ding. Worth it for me to not have to text my family to get off of Netflix so I can watch something.

Are you the phantom account with the burglar avatar that keeps popping up on my home screen?

That sucks. Is it mostly just the Netflix originals available for 4K?

Damn. I thought I'd throw you off my tracks by making the avatar a woman.

No, this is what would cause a revolt. I have the highest tier with four people using it and two people paying the bill. It's still a no-brainer in terms of value. They're better off inching the price higher every 2-3 years than reducing the number of streams per tier.

Probably going to do it for me. Man, I was an early adopter - back in the days of the Netflix DVD queues (late 90s or very early aughts).

Good times. End of an era. I'm keeping HBO until after GoT wraps then I'll be all Amazon Prime.

And outside of the documentaries, these are all *meh* to me.

There is an upper limit to what people will pay and I think they're close to it.

Maybe they should get a little pickier with these

Yeah you need the Premium unless you live alone.

Everyone wants to watch separately on their tablets or even phones.

premium is a horrible idea if you have a monthly data cap.

more people viewing + more 4K streaming = 1TB data cap will be hit much earlier in the month.

I think it is, but I don't think most would think so. It's the Dolby Vision shows that really stand out compared to plain HD.
