Released on October 9th.

Directed and co-written by Ben Affleck.

Starring Ben Affleck, Kerry Washington and Gillian Anderson.

A crime thriller.

Affleck is running for mayor of LA. His son gets kidnapped on Halloween. His wife is having an affair. The kidnapper demands $7 million before morning, but Affleck already liquidated his savings, without his wife's knowledge, to spend on his campaign.

Kerry Washington plays his wife. Gillian Anderson is a "fixer" type who provides the ransom money, and will eliminate the kidnapper, for a 20% fee.

It was originally supposed to star Matt Damon, with Jennifer Garner as the wife. However, due to production delays, Damon had to back out and was replaced by Affleck. Then Garner said "no" on playing the wife role, so she was replaced by Kerry Washington.

I will withhold further comment until I see some replies.

I have some questions, too.

I watched it.
Good acting. Decent storyline. Entertaining. A bit of a clunky ending. Don’t go in expecting some incredible movie and it’s a good watch. I’ll even admit I got hooked to find out how it would resolve.

It was decent, but the main plot was pretty much a rip off of Denzel Washington’s movie Highest 2 Lowest.

Some of these movies on the streaming services can be hit or miss. But when you have Affleck or Damon it is usually going to be good. The RIP was great.
But I got suckered into Havoc (2025). I figured it had to be good with Tom Hardy. I didn't like it at all. Lots of fake looking AI in chase scenes, the Asian gang stuff was just over the top. Not a fan.
I saw the trailer for Animals. It does look interesting and seems like a good story.

I haven't seen that one. I'll try to find it.

That could've been some killer chemistry. Would've been an interesting selling point for the movie to see those to play a married couple.

The wife and I watched it the other night. It was just ok. Here's a question, why is Kerry Washington always with a white dude in movies and tv shows?

This is what Wiki says, quoting Ben Affleck:

quote:

"I talked to Jen, and she was like, 'We don't wanna do that. You just get baggage,'... I still would wanna work with her in the future, but what you don't wanna do is take the audience's baggage and have it work against you, you know?"

I don't know, but there is a scene in the movie, after Affleck discovered the affair, when he asked her, "Is he black?"

I thought to myself, "Why does it even matter?"

Yeah, the question was dumb and out of place. The "I want to frick my wife" scene was, too.
