Well that's bullshite. IF I pay for 4 screens at once, I expect to be able to use that service anywhere I choose. IF they want to stop charging me for 4 screens, then Ok. But something tells me that won't be the case.

I hear you. Just like I pay for ad-free Hulu, but still get forced to watch ads on certain channels if the show aired live less than 24 hours ago.

Same. And I have been a subscriber since October of 2002 when they were mailing me DVDs.

Who pays for that shite?

If it's you, cancel it, start a new account.

I do per the divorce decree, but I also have the out written in there that if location or password restrictions become an issue, the account becomes mine, and she has to get her own.

I just don't care enough at the moment. The last time I was on the couch in front of the TV was over a month ago.

Sounds like the divorce decree says it's time for you to cut that shite off.

Divorce decrees get down and dirty with streaming accounts? You must have really fricked up. Or you both got milked by the divorce attorneys.

I wrote it in there to keep myself from having to pay for two streaming accounts for everything when password sharing got cracked down upon. It was predictable, and I already knew from trying to use a Roku stick in a hotel room in Dallas, that Hulu was going to be a problem.

Used a mediator, we pretty much agreed on everything beforehand, so we were done in about 2.5 hours.

Hell, Spectrum let's me use their app anywhere in the country on a streaming device and damn near every channel aside from the locals and Fox owned stations work on that app when outside of my house.

And the Spectrum cable plan I just cancelled was $210/month.

So, if I watch Netflix on my Firestick and take it with me to a vacation spot, it won't work because the IP address will be different?

Netflix will probably be OK until March, the only service I've had an issue with is Hulu. That's clearly going to change within the next 60 days.

So the mobile app will be useless now?

Netflix says it knows some people may cancel, but it’s expecting other households to activate accounts and counterbalance that revenue loss.

I think they are going to be surprised.

People don't pay for things they've been getting free for years. They'll move on to another free option.

I paid for my own media server years ago because having an upfront cost and getting stuff stored over several years was a lot better fricking option than paying for a rotating selection of stuff where they could pull what my kids wanted and I’m fricked.

Things will get to the point where people use their free month or discounted month to watch Stranger Things when a season drops then cancel the other months of the year, similar to HBO when shows like Game Of Thrones were being aired. People paid for months when the new shite they wanted was on but otherwise cancelled.

This is their method to try to stop it

LINK

quote:

In a report to its shareholders last week, Netflix said: "While our terms of use limit use of Netflix to a household, we recognise this is a change for members who share their account more broadly."

The report continued: "As we roll out paid sharing, members in many countries will also have the option to pay extra if they want to share Netflix with people they don’t live with.

"As is the case today, all members will be able to watch while travelling, whether on a TV or mobile device."

The new method in question revolves around a regular resigning into your Netflix account.

In short, users will have to log in on their device from their home Wi-Fi network once every 31 days.

If users fail to do so, their Netflix account can be blocked.

TF?

If I am at home streaming, it will be on the TV and not on my iPhone or iPad. I would do that shite if I were outside the house.

At $210 a month you were on one of the upper tiers. Bottom tier is $60 a month and gets you way more content than Netflix w/sports content being the big one. If you DGAF about sports than I can see cable not being worth it but if you do it's still the best deal going.

So if I want to use my kids Netflix profile via our account at grandmas house on the weekends we are either going to be forced to have the app on our phone to cast it to her tv or we are going to have to bring her Roku home once a month to log in.

Bye bye Netflix.

What's really amusing is out of all the streamers Netflix is by far the easiest to pirate b/c all their episodes drop at once. Their shows are about to get absolutely hammered on torrent sites.
