thanks to Disney, that an average Sci -fi show stamped with Star Wars is hailed as awesome.
So many sources are calling it a great show, full stop. Not great SW. What if you just checked out a few episodes and found out for yourself? Are you that scared of your opinion differing from Nerdrotic that you actively avoid anything he's talked about?

I guess when your entire worldview is derived from blindly internalizing someone else's opinions as your absolute truth, the possibility of having to admit they are wrong has the added weight of invalidating you on a personal level....

Not going to jump in with you maniacs and the same ol arguments ya'll have every day, but just curious, how many of those 5 shows have you watched?

I watched G4 Attack of the Show back in the day, then watched from the sidelines in real time as this rebooted shite show collapsed on its woke self. Hated seeing Kevin Pereria look like a beaten dog, then Adam Sessler lose his freaking mind & go full TDS.
I do subscribe to Chris Gore's YT channel though. Looking forward to his 'Attack of the Doc' movie detailing his time on AOTS. Should be interesting.
The best part though was the slow motion train wreck. A channel with massive capital just go right down the drain in 8 months.
Not having D+, I thankfully missed the She-Hulk. Though I was a big fan of Orphan Black & Tatiana Maslany. I cancelled my Amazon Prime membership specifically because I knew what was coming with ROP.
Of the 5, I saw 1. I refuse to watch Lady Thor, having been a big fan of Marvel's phases 1-3. After End Game, the MCU was basically dead.
And when it comes to Tolkien, more than anything, I know the source material. ROP wasn't recognizable. Utterly pointless.

Reddit, Socialist copy and paste word salad bullshite from a Narcissist living in Mommy's basement who thinks he's the only person to see "da troof".......
You're the biggest sheep of all because you think you're the only person who has taken half a semester of Community College Philosophy.... couple that with sucking off the likes of Noam Chomsky and regurgitating the same old ranting and raving against "da man" and Capitalism makes you look like nothing more than a cartoon character....
We've seen and heard this quasi-intellectual bullshite before, kid......

Imagine if you will for a moment, the sort of person that is 20,000 posts deep on a regional message board, is desperately insecure about his posting habits because he keeps trying to project outward that everyone else but him is hyper online shut-ins, spends 3 days writing angry ad hominem fan fic one after the other about the same poster, furiously Google-fingering images at 630am in the morning to try and "own" some rando in their safe space.
I don't actually know what you look like Ooga, but I do know that if you step in front of a mirror the person described above will be you

all the shows are getting second seasons lol
1) Its because they have cornered themselves with their woke BS, that they have nothing better to offer
2) Disney streaming lost 1.5B. Yeah thats a B for Billion. Soooo, I dont think your point was the slam dunk you thought it would be

So to summarize and cut thru the bullshite:
- You made a thread about 5 shows, 4 you haven't watched.
- Got in a pissing match with me and others about a game you never played, citing video essays of two people that also hadn't played the game.
- Then proceeded to pivot to misrepresent and trash another show, using the same unreliable video essayist, a show you also have never seen
Got it
I know I asked this before, but do you have any opinions on media that are actually your own? Or is your identity literally just finding the guys that get you worked up, stealing their thoughts, then posting their thoughts as your own 24/7. Never actually engaging with the underlying media?

4 things I’ll never watch.
You pissed yourself.
A game I’ll never play.
To point out the bigger issue happening in entertainment that woke garbage is ruining IPs & established characters.
No thoughts were stolen. They belong to who I showed them being from in the first place. How you can’t grasp the idea of showing examples to support claims is sad. It really is pathetic that this is the hill you’ll die on because you can’t defend your views.
Continue to pretend you don’t get it though.

Except, you know, when you went on flapping your gums about Andor being generic sci-fi, not Star Wars, and only received well cause fans were desperate for better Star Wars. Then proceeded to flop around like a dead fish trying to defend that false and borrowed accusation for a page and a half.
Same with Last of Us and the rumors that you cant actually determine which were true and not cause you haven't played the fricking game despite a bunch of melty emotional opinions about it you take as fact, opinions again cribbed from people that also didn't play the game...
I'll continue to extend the offer, provide me a single original, focused thought on something specific in either Andor or Last of Us and we can discuss your criticism. Of course, considering the playground of vagueries you tried to play in with Andor just brought on embarrassment, I'm again not holding my breath

I care for neither. For the reasons already stated.
I really hope you’re not this desperate for attention in real life

A sampling of thoughts (from various different posters) from the Andor thread:
quote:
I'm just sitting here laughing after watching Episode 6. The gap in quality between this show and Obi-Wan/Bobba Fett/Mandalorian is just downright colossal. Where the hell has this level of quality been? We get rushed garbage like Obi-Wan, which might very well be one of the worst shows I have ever seen, and then a few months later we get this. It's like a kid that has been failing every exam all semester suddenly pulls out an A+ on the final. This is a damn solid show so far.
quote:
For all the people saying it’s too slow, I ask you to just slog through episodes 1 and 2 while you read TD and half pay attention. Because if you do, you will be rewarded in episodes 3-6 with some of the best Star Wars you’ll ever see. And they are doing it without gimmicks. There’s no baby Yoda, no one with the last name skywalker, and the story isn’t even set on tatooine. It is just really good storytelling.
quote:
Caught up on this weeks episode last night after the Pelicans game. This show is incredible. I honestly didn’t know Disney was capable of this based on what they’ve given us so far. All the political storylines are fantastic, and I can’t wait till
quote:
To re-use the word previously used in another post, this has gravitas. Disney has shown they will suck that out of SW and the MCU to appeal to the masses. We haven't seen a show like Andor and in the MCU you haven't seen a movie like The Winter Soldier in a long while. It's just how they operate but hopefully this will spark some change
quote:
I’m so glad I gave this show a shot after being a little Star Wars fatigued. Its fantastic. Any true Star Wars fan appreciates the daily conversations they are giving us with the Empire and behind the scenes look at normal things.
quote:
It’s crazy how good this series is, just getting better and better. The attention to detail is amazing. They somehow make me interested in each characters plot line. Must be the writing. I enjoyed The Mandalorian, but it was mostly mindless fun. Book of Boba Fett and Obi Wan were really bad, IMO. Andor just seems to be on another level. They need to give Tony Gilroy a film trilogy after this. Better yet, give him Kathleen Kennedy’s job. If any of y’all gave up on Andor after the 1st or 2nd episode, you need to give it another try.
quote:
Yeah, I still can't believe how good this show is. The writing, cinematography, acting, and overall quality and storytelling is massively superior to any other piece of Star Wars content. This is easily the best show on Disney+. It honestly feels like an HBO show. I don't think I can go back to the vapid writing and typical Star Wars status quo after watching this.
quote:
This times 100. I legit had decided Star Wars was dead beyond The Mandalorian. I’m still skeptical that they’re gonna lead into the sequel trilogy with the post ROTJ stuff. This show is HBO quality. The writing, acting, and direction is top notch. Mostly I think it’s because they are telling a smaller story about a regular guy. That’s what Star Wars needs. The movies blow. Give me tales of intrigue surrounding the hive of scum and villainy that populate the galaxy.
quote:
I never thought i would say this, but you are correct. Andor is currently the best thing on TV
quote:
Every episode i keep waiting for them to frick this show up and instead after every episode im left thinking about how great it is in every respect. Tone, music, writing, acting, production. It has it all.
quote:
I am late to this show but just caught up. I am floored by how great and meticulously crafted this show is. Every aspect is well plotted, acted, and shot. It just keeps getting better.
quote:
I’m starting to feel like a broken record, as every week I’m saying “this was the best episode yet.” But it’s true. It just keeps getting better, and this was no exception. Serkis was phenomenal, and he gave an all time great speech/monologue, and it wasn’t even the best one of the episode. Stellan’s was in the running for the greatest. Just absolutely phenomenal.

Just to clarify, I don't think I heard anyone claim Andor was 'woke'. What I am hearing is that if we can get a competent SW series like this, why are we getting garbage like Obi-Wan. (Or the sequels, for that matter)
Andor took several episodes (wasn't it 5 or 6?) to set up a heist, right? Firefly did it in one episode. 20 years ago.

No, just generic sci-fi trash. Keep moving the goalposts until you can steal some more opinions from youtube.

Did the mean YouTuber's opinions hurt your feewings?
(And where did I say 'trash'? Basic sci-fi is generally pretty good. But Star Wars should be something 'different'. That's an opinion. Agree or not)

in Andor and Firefly's defense, you had to up the ante in episode 1 to pick up viewership for network television. Firefly was freaking excellent and still got the axe after one season.
with a streaming series there's already an order for the whole season so you don't have to have as much escalation in a pilot.

The short version is that one suit in particular @ FOX (Gail Berman) had it out for Joss Whedon, and so Firefly was doomed before it aired.

It's also a stupid comparison
Firefly is a pulp sci-fi/action/comedy. Andor is a meticulous examination of the military fascism the Empire represents and governs with and life under it's boot through the perspective of a large ensemble cast in a vast array of positions in and out of the empire at the height of it's power. All woven together into a cohesive narrative showing how evil becomes institutionalized and incentivized, and the enormous weight it takes(emotionally, morally, and physically) to foment meaningful opposition to such a state. All fitting naturally into the Star Wars universe and OT lore.
The heist is used as one of many threads examining and tying those ideas together. The idea the show failed cause it couldn't just "get to a major action scene in one episode" is retarded.

Joss Whedon is a fake feminist, serial-cheating, misogynistic douchebag. Droves of women he worked with outed him for being an abusive a-hole. Whatever happened with Firefly, he probably deserved.
