Had seen the previews for this on HBO recently but hadn't paid it much attention. Happened to catch it tonight after the game and was plesantly suprised. Had no idea this was Nick Nack from The Man with the Golden Gun. Dinklage is phenomenal as always.
Thoughts?

He was amazing as Villechaize.
What made the movie so compelling is you're left in a place of uncertainty on whether you should feel sorry for Herve' or just see him as a diminutive prick.

Entertaining film. Dinklage elevated it from being a made for TV movie. The casting of Andy Garcia as Montalbon had me rolling. The Roger Moore actor did a decent job.

Did they include the stories from after he got fired from Fantasy island, where he would get drunk and flip off the show on the TV?

It was a terrific movie and accurate account of his life.

When he's walking away from the reporter the last time they see each other and the people in the hotel lobby are basically treating him like a dog doing tricks definitely made me feel sorry for him.
I had no idea he was a talented artist. Or that he was French.

Watched it last night. Dinklage nailed his voice and mannerisms. Seeing the real pic of the two at the end really hit me.

He also did some assists on inking some Richie Rich and Casper stories for Harvey Comics during his early years in NYC.

Hervé was a wild man. Really enjoyed the movie but hated how it ended for him.

Bump. Really well done movie, not what I was expecting. Even though Dinklage doesn’t resemble Hervé much, he nailed the voice and mannerisms so well that he vanished into the role.
Didn’t recognize Garcia as Mantalbán either, very nice casting job.
Well-placed score & soundrack as well. Recommend.

Watched it a week or two ago. As has been said already, Dinklage really did a great job. Obviously, he wasn't a dead ringer for Herve outside of the height. He really put his full talents into it, though.
Herve seemed like a total a-hole, but I also felt bad for him obviously. Would his life had been better if he had never gotten famous, and just been a struggling painter?
It's obvious he enjoyed the excesses of Hollywood fame, but at the same time it seems like he wanted to be truly loved by his co-star. He had the woman later in life that survived him, but he seemed broken by the girl that usurped him at the height (no pun intended) of his success.
