Watched it when it dropped. Interesting story that I don't remember happening but...

Spoilers

I couldn't help but think the Mormons can even make high-level forgery and bombings seem boring.

Most of the footage is from the old bbc documentary on the story of Hoffman.

Netflix seems to have added the up to date interviews with many of the same players from the time of the story.

Near 32 years later, I remember the events and the bbc documentary. This story was well covered back when it happened.

This story is one of the episodes of Forensic Files that gets played all the time, didn’t realize until halfway through

Yet another doc that does not need to be 3 episodes for Netflix.

I couldn’t stand the short bald guy. Dude was hamming it up so much for the cameras I was rolling my eyes everytime he came on screen

It's getting out of hand. I didn't think this doc was as bad as some.

The one about the chinese girl that died at the LA Hotel though... My God that was drawn out. They even did the backstory on the hotel manager.

Some of these docs are embarrassingly bad.

The wife put it on Saturday night. We got about halfway through the 1st episode and both fell asleep (not because it was boring, but it was just a long day and we were both exhausted.) I woke up to catch the end of episode 3. Eventually I'll get around to watching the middle portion of the doc.

read that as "Murder Among Morons" and wondered if there really is that much of a demand for a documentary about Bama fans killing each other.

This. I'm surprised that more people don't remember the Salamander controversy. It was huge at the time. The stuff that followed was minor next to the Mormon Church being thrown into a fit by the revelations of new texts.

I started it, but it kind of sucked and I got bored and ended up going down a LDS research rabbit hole instead. Next thing I know it's midnight and reading the Book of Mormon.

Anytime Forensic files or cold case files throws in a “and what connection could this have with the LDS church” in the open, you know it’s about to be a baller episode

Between the forgeries in this and the McMillions thing, LDS members must be the biggest marks on earth

Episode 1 was slow as hell and i almost turned it off. I enjoyed episodes 2 and 3 though.

Dude in the 16 piece suit was lying like crazy when they asked him what he was doing the day before the bombing lol.

SPOILERS:

I just watched it. I remember and was told about Hoffman and the forgeries but just because I live in SLC. I didn't move here until '95 so I didn't know or remember the bombings/murders and that Hoffman was an absolute lunatic and psychopath.

This may belong in the "Scary/Creepy photos...." thread on the OT, but my current office is next door and 50 yards from where the bombing took place in the Judge Building. I didn't know this until I watched the documentary. Granted, those bombings happened in 1985 and I didn't move to UT until a decade later.

So my first apartment in SLC was in the building next door to Ted Bundy's apartment when he murdered 8 of his victims, and now I've learned I can throw a whiffle ball and hit the office of where the first Hoffman bombing/murder took place.

I’ve heard it’s actually a nice little upcoming city that’s kind of coming to ahead with non Mormon young professionals mingling with these oddball LDS members

I’ve enjoyed every Netflix True Crime Documentary I’ve seen so far (especially Nightstalker most recently), but found this effort to be utterly boring despite the topic being interesting on the surface.
