I’ve enjoyed every Netflix True Crime Documentary I’ve seen so far (especially Nightstalker most recently), but found this effort to be utterly boring despite the topic being interesting on the surface.

Name checks out....

Salt Lake City sounds neat.
Statistically most serial killers come from the PNW and SW, which is primarily attributed to weather pattens in research. We get 280-ish days of sun in SLC because its a high-plains desert. However, inversion is a bitch sometimes in SLC in the winter, but I take the time and effort to get in some elevation and ski, exercise, etc...

Sounds like you need to stay in two-season weather - hot and fricking hot.

At the beginning of episode 3 when they were playing the tape from an interview, I was very confused because I thought it was a girl confessing to the crimes. Maybe it was just me but his voice sounded very feminine

SPOILER

He claimed that he liked to roll the dice. There was a chance of either. Said the female victim had the same odds. He won, she lost.

I actually thought this was brief and concise by Netflix doc standards. Probably could have been 2 episodes, but I understand why they wanted to focus on his deposition recordings in Part 3.

I assumed his "suicide attempt" was accidental. The woman questioning him even called him out on it, though the editing didn't make it particularly clear.

Don't know why they interviewed his wife except to say they did. She had absolutely nothing to add and looked pained just to be on camera. Same for all that home movie footage, added nothing. All the Mormons sounded fake as hell.
