I found in on YouTube TV. If you go to the episodes section for the show it’s listed under Extras and not Season 40 for some reason.

I have Directv and initially thought mine didn’t get recorded either. Turns out the episode was under a different name format than usual.
Instead of the usual episode title, such as:
S40 E8 | Battle of the Eras: A New Era
yesterdays episode showed up way down the list as:
S40 | Payback Era
Because of the name difference it didn’t show up at the top of the list but way down at the bottom instead. Check for that first before writing it off

Is this thread dead? I’ve been out of town and finally watching the episode now and I see the thread hasn’t been posted in since October.
Kyland is so all-around good at this stuff. Really good addition to the show.
I’m surprised to see Tori win this one. Maybe she’s getting back to the old Tori.
Jenny gasses out more than any other challenge in recent memory. I guess all that fitness isn’t working so well overall. She’s good and a solid female obviously, but she absolutely has no stamina.
Laurel basically quitting. That’s on brand.
Nehemiah came in last and was purged? I’m shocked.
Derek: “There’s nothing but beasts left. We’re the best of the best, no layups left now.” Shut the frick up, Derek. You are an absolute layup and have skated by (by your own admission even). You suck at this stuff and shouldn’t have made it anywhere near this far.
Every time John is on the table you can be assured that he will pitch a hissy fit and bitch and complain more than anybody else ever. And he didn’t disappoint this week. He is such a butthurt bitch who acts like he’s never fricked over anybody in the game when he’s actually probably done it the most in actuality.
Absolutely no reason to stretch this elimination out for 30 minutes.
I’m not a huge fan of elims like this where it comes down to almost pure luck (drawing cards). I want it to come down to who actually wins a head to head competition.
Josh and Michele going at it is hilarious. And of course it’s because Josh is cheering for everybody, which is funny, and Michele doesn’t like that, which is funny.

I don’t understand the race aspect of this when they’re simply taking turns drawing H/L cards after the first round.
Laurel riding with John all season and giving him a 1 karma vote is weird. Can’t wait to see his reaction to that.
Btw, thanks to MTV for basically telling us Theo was going home with the way they edited the beginning of the show (especially the “previously on” part).

At this point we are down to 13 players, and there are a surprising number of players who have no chance of winning who have made it this far.
On the men’s side, it’s clearly between Kyland and Jordan. Maybe Johnny has a chance though he isn’t close to those two on cardio, and they are both better at puzzles as well.
Cory is a good competitor but too dumb to ever win an individual challenge. He would have been perfect for the teams eras where his generally positive attitude and good physical skills would have kept him around, and he wouldn’t actually have to think at all.
Josh and Derek have no chance.
On the women’s side, I think it’s between Tori and Rachel. Cara doesn’t seem to be as athletic or fit as she used to be back when she did these shows regularly. She’s not bad at all but not at their level.
Aviv is good but clearly injured. Jenny is great for eliminations but has shockingly poor cardio.
Olivia is decent but no chance she wins. Michelle isn’t good at all and will be targeted

I agree, although I don’t think you can ever count John out if he makes a final. Love him or hate him, he’s just plain good at this shite.
I do think he’s come in so hot this season with the drama though that whatever this karma vote is or whatever will frick him and he won’t win.

I agree with this too. It would actually be pretty cool if Rachel could pull off a dub. Maybe it would spark some of the old heads into wanting to come back and participate more. She’s sort of a machine though so she’s an outlier in terms of still being in shape after all these years.
I assume Cara goes home next week after the preview for next week shows her talking about how it’s time for her to turn it up and get to work. And I agree, she’s now more of just a solid woman challenger than one of the better ones. She was right though, this season’s women side was pretty stacked.
Zero chance Jenny wins a final. She gasses in like two seconds. Her muscles are just for show because she is pretty strong and in shape. But like I said and you said, her cardio is so surprisingly bad almost to the point of disbelief. It makes no sense with how good and solid she is in all other aspects.

Based on looks alone you would think Jenny and Theo are the two best athletes there and they turned out to be two of the worst competitors. Jenny has no cardio and Theo came in near the bottom of every challenge. Is Olivia holding him back or does he just not care?
Also would be hilarious to see Bananas win the final and not get the money because of the karma vote.

Bananas and Wes really transformed the series from a group of folks playing silly games to a hardcore political game. We’ve been binging every season on Paramoint + starting with season 10 and those two had a huge impact on the direction of the show moving forward

It’s shocking every year how horrible Theo and Jenny’s cardio is. I don’t get why they even come on the show when it’s so obvious they have ZERO chance of winning. Obviously they do it to stay famous and maintain their brand, but Jesus get on a peloton or a rower from time to time before you show up to the show.

What the hell are they thinking with this episode? Do they think we want to hear all about food massages, see up closes of them picking at each others’ feet, and hear Rachel and Aviv talking about their fricking periods for 15 minutes straight?

Michele saying she’s like Cara. Say what? No you aren’t. The only thing y’all have in common is that I hate both of you. But Cara is actually good at the challenges and has success on the show. Michele hasn’t.
I really don’t like the target thing. There is zero drama with who is going into elimination because it’s already decided at the daily.
Gotta love John talking shite about how catty women are and they throw low blows when that’s all he ever does, ever.
Jesus tapdancing Christ, can we get off of the foot thing for fricks sake? Who cares. These people are perpetually stuck at high school level bullshite.
John getting so offended by some random, one-off comment about foot cuddling with Aviv makes me think they are fricking or something like that.
Michele is having a breakdown and crying hysterically? That’s so out of character for her. Weird.
It’s hilarious that just when you think John can’t get any more douchey and annoying, he whips out a guitar. He’s that guy.
This episode is a perfect example of why these should not be 90 fricking minutes long. The elimination started with 30 minutes left in the episode. And they stretched it out for that long. Add that to the foot massage and shite. Hell, we even got multiple slow motion hugs between Olivia and Michele that lasted several minutes. Just ridiculous.
Josh: “I don’t want to play a scared game.” Bruh, that’s all you play is a terrified game. Always.
Derek still skating by is absolutely hilarious. He sucks at basically everything except social game with the women. But that’s saved his arse several times thus far so I guess good on him. At some point the other dudes should want to keep him around as a layup in the final.

I mentioned it earlier but I’ve been binging all the seasons on Paramount+. We are currently at battle of the seasons. It started out as a quick 30 minute (21 without commercials) where they’d get drunk for 5 minutes, do a challenge for 5 minutes, show deliberation and politicking for 5 minutes, and then do the elimination for 5 minutes. Bring me back to this format please and eliminate the bullshite slow mo shots of them walking to and fro and doing their house treadmill workouts

Even when the episodes were at 60 minutes it wasn't so bad but every week being 90 minutes is too much. I don't care to see them politic for 30 minutes every week.
