Starts off with a bang,

pretty mellow or slow for a while until about the fifth episode (this is the episode where Whiterose's other identity is exposed), then it gets really good.

I enjoyed season 1. I do cybersecurity assessments and consultations for industrial and critical infrastructure, and I can honestly say that a lot of the stuff from season 1 was pretty accurate.

In season 2 though, we get FBI agent masturbation and Elliot eating regurgitated adderall. On the bright side, the cinematography is still beautiful and the soundtrack is killer. I just hope it amps up later on. I'll start episode 4 tonight.

Tyrell is the best character in the show, I hope he comes back soon

I'm glad you mentioned this. Was he really eating all those Adderals? I mean, I'm sure you can get em in jail, but that seemed excessive. To both have access to in jail and to not cause a heart attack.

I watched every week last year and absolutely loved season 1. I haven't watched as regularly--binged watched a few late at night--or read as much, so I may not be in a great position to judge this. But my overall feeling of season 2 is that it is not nearly as good as last year.

Season 1 was all hackers and their ideals coming into play. They accomplished what they wanted.

Now season 2 deals with how a lot of these "idealists" would act after they get what they wanted. Of course it is going to be different than season 1, but I find this season even more intimate than last. The show is really focusing on each character and how they deal with their own personal reality.

Angela has pretty much taken over that role this season.

That was pretty gratuitous wasn't it? Like why can't you just show them laying in bed under the covers, one guy gets up to shower, Tyrell digs in his wallet. You don't need to show assfricking and then have a conversation about being dirty. So stupid and self indulgent

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that because he was trying to use that guy for some other motive?

The masturbation scene was completely pointless.

That just kinda TV in 2016. Look at any HBO show and you'll find gratuitous sex and violence

Here are my takeaways from the last episode:

Angela is an idealist who wants to promote change from within. She will get swept up in all the power and influence of evilcorp and end up being the main antagonist by season 4 or 5. I wouldn't be surprised if the FBI pressured her enough to switch sides at the end of season 2.

When Darlene went back to the incinerator, she offered to pay the guy more money and in ECoin, which she claimed is more valuable than cash. If this is true, it only means that evilcorp has more power now than they did before the hack. FSociety has done more harm than good in the short term. I see the CEO of evilcorp getting a lot more ruthless in the near future. His company already had major influence on people's lives, but this hack has given him the opportunity to gain not just influence, but control. He will take advantage of everyone in the fallout.

Was killing the evilcorp lawyer part of Darlene's plan all along? Did Darlene know she would come home eventually and find them? Surely it at least crossed her mind. Darlene isn't stupid. And since she was a little girl, she has hated this women for allowing evilcorp to get away with killing her father. Her dark side is going to start shining through that much more.

I don't think it was part of the plan, but I do think that she had thought about killing her for a long time. Like you said she hated her since the day in the courtroom.

That's what she meant when she told whoever it was that she "didn't think she could do it". She had thought about it before but was a little surprised in herself that she could actually go through with it.

Has anyone played the Mr Robot mobile game from Telltale games?

It's pretty awesome. It plays out in an E Corp cell phone GUI

At minimum it was a happy accident. I think she planned on it, the only way to explain why they were still hiding there
