What you quoted was not a bad line of dialogue. Yes, the dialogue was very stylized but I tend to like that.

I guess I'm pretentious because I liked Crash. I just didn't see all the BS in it I guess. I really think it is more because I like those types of movies that have a large cast with intertwining plots and such.

I also liked Lost in Translation and Shakespeare in Love. Shakespeare in Love is very entertaining. Best Picture, no.

I did too. I thought Bill Murray did a fantastic job. the dialogue was great, the scenary was great, and the music as well. I also liked Broken Flowers. He really showed his range from Caddyshack and Stripes to these 2 movies

I'll agree with Babel and Crash and I'll add Sideways since it hasn't been mentioned. Not a terrible flick but I don't see why it was so hyped. I would just as soon have my 2 hours back.

I feel the same way about the Twilight books. Try readiong them first before declaring anyone who likes them gay.

I never said anyone who likes Brokeback Mountain is gay. I said that I have no desire to watch a movie about two gay cowboys.

Stylized is Wes Anderson, Aaron Sorkin stuff.

Juno was just a bunch of fluff delivered in an entirely over the top/way too cutesy manner.

I think you could basically throw in any Oscar film here and you would be right.

Yeah, and that was his worst movie.

I actually think he's a pretty solid director. He just chose to work with a really poor screenplay in this case. Diablo Cody blows.

no you didnt. you said: "I don't understand how a straight male could possibly enjoy this"

And I said maybe you should watch it before you judge it. It's not about 2 "gay cowboys". If you watched it, you'd know that

i don't know how they would not have heard of it. maybe i was just more into movies at that time and just heard all sorts of stuff about it and how great it was.

there were commercials for it all the time talking about "best picture" this and that...

i liked the movie, and would recomend it to people. just didn't think it was worthy of all the attention.

American Beauty

One of the most pompous, cliche-laden, predictable pieces of crap to ever come out of Hollywood and win massive awards and praise.

The problem with Babel is that it was basically done with 21 Grams which was a takeoff of his Amores Perros which was a great movie.

The only thing I liked about Crash was the soundtrack.
