The end of Armageddon (seriously) when the little boy runs out to Chick.

Forrest Gump when he talks to Jenny at her grave.

The Patriot when the youngest girl finally talks and runs up to Mel Gibson begging him not to go.

All of these, word for word.

As well as Taking Chance. The entire funeral scene.

Marley and Me. Obvious part.

Saving Private Ryan, when he's at the cemetary at the end with his family.

Another is John Q. When Denzel decides he's going to kill himself to save his son, he is talking to him about growing up and telling him to stay away from the bad things. Not a great movie, but that scene made me tear up

I seriously busted out laughing at the sheer obsurdity at the scene.

I'm not understanding how a movie can make a person cry? Can some explain to me the thought process here?

I totally forgot about this. It isn't a movie, but there is an episode of Futurama called Jurassic Bark and that made me tear up.

It's not a thought process, it most likely happens at the subconscious level. My guess would be so called empathy neurons firing.
