Was actually looking for this to watch with my kids.

Others:

The Accountant - the Ray McKinnon short film, not the Ben Affleck one

Midnight Madness - cheesy 80s movie about college kids on an all night scavenger hunt. Early work for a young Michael J Fox

Kids - 90s film about a group of kids in NY. Film debuts for Rosario Dawson and Chloe Sevigny

As a kid in the 80s/90s I lived in Dubai. There was CNN and basically nothing else in English on TV at the time. Each summer we’d buy and bring vhs tapes from the US into the country. At the airport your luggage was screened upon entry and certain contraband was taken. This included all vhs tapes. The tapes were watched by a screener and then returned to you after a few weeks with appropriate edits of nudity or other sensitive content.

True Lies was never returned. 3 different times. It’s negative depictions of Muslims were not permitted. So perhaps 3rd world autocratic censorship is alive and well today.

I saw it the other day in a best buy.

It was in one of those "3 or 4 films in 1" dvds. Had like "Goes to camp", "Scared Stupid" and "Goes to Jail" all in 1.

If all else fails, I'm sure its on Ebay.

Reminds me of small town movie rental stores in the 80s.

Link to me wondering the same thing two years ago

I’ll add to that trying to find the original opening theme song for Christmas Vacation. You can find covers and other versions but not the one from the movie.

here it is on YouTube
LINK

For whatever reason a lot of songs that were done for movies get caught up in rights issues with the music companies and dont get put on Spotify.

That reminds me that The Chipmunk Adventure and the original Brave Little Toaster are also not for sale and can only be found on YouTube.

The Chipmunk Adventure

The Brave Little Toaster

As mentioned above: Dutch

Great Thanksgiving movie but unavailable to buy or stream. Really strange. I think I read somewhere that whoever owns the license to it would actually lose money if they allowed it for sale or for streaming.

I’ll also throw in The Godfather Saga. It’s like an 8 hour mash up of The Godfather 1 & 2 that is in chronological order. Used to be able to find it on HBO streaming but now it’s not available anywhere.
