I've never known whether or not the classify It's a Wonderful Life as a Christmas movie or not. The only time I ever watch it is around Christmas, but the only part of the movie set during Christmas is the end.

Yeah, but the movie is about relationships, not Christmas. It could easily have been set against the backdrop of Easter, New Years, or Guy Fawkes day and still been a great movie (and it is a great movie).

Die Hard comes to mind first, but what about The Nightmare Before Christmas?

It isn't about Christmas. Its about a kid whose sociopathic frickhead parents leave him behind and don't really give a shite about anything other than their reputation... oh and the kid has to keep burglars out.

Jumanji

It came out on Christmas eve one year and the last scene was at a Christmas party. It's always reminded me of christmas in a weird way.

Relationships around Christmas. Some of what the characters did or went through would not have occurred had not Christmas been a part of the story. It is a Christmas movie.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is unquestionably a Christmas movie. It is absolutely NOT a Halloween movie.

How in the HELL can you call it anything other than a Christmas movie?
