I just check in on the app for whatever movie is available and then just use the card to buy a different ticket. The card isn't tracking what movie is being seen, and since they no longer ask for stub pics... No reason to buy the right ticket and sneak into a better movie. Just buy the better movie ticket
That's a good point. Again, what are they going to do, cancel your account?

I think I did get a warning after selecting one movie on the app and buying a ticket for a different film.
But if you're seeing as many movies as we were at the height of MoviePass, you'd occasionally get the box office girl selling you tickets to the wrong movie. It wasn't worth the trouble of going back to swap tickets.

I have to buy a ticket for what is available take a pic and then exchange the ticket for the movie I want. My wife and I bought an annual subscription. They are forcing all the new changes on annual subscribers like three movies a month and only having 1 or 2 movies available per day but still forcing the ticket verification. We've moved to Sinemia but when we go over the two we pay for we fall back to MoviePass.

Take a pic of the movie ticket you "stole" from them and see what happens.

I assume the first time it would be a warning. My subscription ends on December 9 anyway so I don't care if they cancel my account. I've already added a virtual card to mine and my wife's account so they can't charge me anything after I cancel.

I'm guessing they've gotten more than one dick pic as people cancel their accounts.

I seriously doubt they are starting to regain subscribers. Why would anyone rejoin. When my subscription finally ended it was to the point where you had the option of 1 or 2 really shitty movies to choose from and on some days no movies were available at all. Who would give these guys another chance? Even if they go back to the unlimited plan, you know there will be extremely limited options. So you are still only allowed to see 3 movies a week, most likely.

Their model is beyond the point of viable, at this point.
Their "unlimited" plan in Aug 2017 should've been for $25/mo.

The original plan would still be going if they hadn't gotten greedy.

25 dollars a month for 1 movie a day is still a steal

They are officially dead.
MoviePass is shutting down tomorrow
MoviePass is shutting down tomorrow

MoviePass, the subscription service that spent enormous amounts of venture capitalists’ money subsidizing movie tickets in a bid to upend the theater business model, is officially shutting down on September 14th. The news, announced today via emails to subscribers and separately from a press release issued by parent company Helios and Matheson, marks the end of a tumultuous two-year saga that saw an once-popular platform go to extreme lengths to keep its business running, despite the obvious and fraught financial cost.

Good. Moviepass was a terribly run operation anyway.

RIP. I gave you about $120 to see nearly $1000 worth of movies.
