IMO if a movie is going to be not so good, the trailer will put the best parts out the fake out the movie goer..I've been a sucker for this more often that I care to say.

What are good examples?

I'll start with obligatory "The Last Jedi" to get that out of the way.

The New World with Collin Ferrell.

The previews made it look like it would be a Last of the Mohicans type movie. What I watched in the theatre was one of the most boring movies I've ever seen, nothing happened at all the entire movie.

There seems to be an early trend forming...

your nomination of The Last Jedi is a solid choice, and will likely resonate with many. that said, the prequels had left me scarred and deformed by that point and although i was cautiously optimistic about TLJ, i wasnt entirely sold on it by the trailer.

Was listening to Rogan podcast to try and nap on flight this am and they brought up first blood

Just watched it and yea...pretty much everything. There wasn't much substance anyway but it was a good action flick for sure

That both posts are Matt Damon films is coincidental.

Public Enemies

It was fine but it looked like it was gonna be fun as hell and it really wasn't.

1998 Godzilla. It was almost like they made separate teasers and trailers that were not in the movie.

The Village.

ETA: Loved the movie, but the trailers made it seem like a different kind of movie.

Kangaroo Jack.
Young teenage me rented this bad boy expecting some kind of buddy comedy with an anthropomorphic kangaroo who had an affinity for hip hop music. It was still a decent movie, but damn it was far from what the trailer was
