ET scared the frick out of me. It took my mom to hold me down to watch the movie. I finally made it past the cornfield when I was 7 and then started to enjoy the movie.

the original Halloween in 1978 was the scariest movie ever made up to that point

For me, it was "The Blob"
I saw it at age 2 or 3 at a drive in with my parents.
Afterwards, I'd pitch a screaming hissy everytime they put jello anywhere near me. They used to get a kick out of watching my reaction... Terrified me for years afterwards.

The Boggy Creek Monster (One of my 4th grade classmates from Woodvale Elementary in Lafayette was in it, circa 1976)

Phantasm

Salem's Lot

Halloween (Mainly that creepy piano music at the beginning)

Poltergeist. I am terrified of clowns to this day because of that damn movie. Also I remember the beginning music to the old tv series "Tales From the Darkside" used to freak me out too. I would go to bed having nightmares cause of that creepy music.
