I will add to the list: Hitchcock's "Shadow of a Doubt" and "The Lady Vanishes" While these are considered great movies by critics, they are rarely ever spoken about when it comes to AH's movies. They are often overshadowed by Psycho, Vertigo and such. SOAD might be my favorite AH movie. It's absolutely brilliant.
Yes, I love Shadow of a Doubt. Very well crafted movie. And thanks for the recommendation for The Lady Vanishes. For some odd reason, it’s one of the few Hitchcock films I haven’t seen.
What are your thoughts on Rebecca? It’s one of my top 3 movies of his.

Purple Rose of Cairo is Woody Allen’s best film.
Never seent it, but "Match Point" blows away every other Allen film that I've seen. He's obsessed with being high brow, but he's shown that he can do suspense as well as anyone else out there.
ETA: "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" may be Lumet's best, and he was in his 80's when he directed it.

I don't think Pan's Labyrinth or Time Bandits are overrated but excellent choice in Mosquito Coast. Great movie staring Harrison Ford and River Phoenix no less that somehow doesn't get the attention it deserves. I had to google Peter Weir's bio: Witness, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Dead Poets Society, Master and Commander, Gallipoli, The Year of Living Dangerously...what a resume. Gallipoli might be another choice.
