It finally dropped today. Watching now, pretty good so far. I’m a sucker for Oscar Isaac.

I watched it not knowing anything about Moon Knight. I like it. Oscar Isaac does a good job… let’s see how it plays out.

"Oh great, the Idiot is in charge again." I loved the Khonshu stuff.

Well that was a very fun first episode. I know nothing about his origin or story and I am hooked already

F. Murray Abraham as Khonshu is another grand slam casting by Feige.

I enjoyed the first episode, but I don't know how far they can stick with the "Idiot Steven Grant." Though there's only 5 more episodes remaining, so development will have to happen fast. Looking forward to seeing more Moon Knight and Marc Spector. Hell, I think most of the Steven stuff we got in the trailers for the show were from this episode.

and as always I made something from the show, so feel free to check that out. This is his Crescent Blade, the thing on his chest:

Marc Spector is a mercenary who is mortally wounded on a mission in Egypt after confronting his partner who kills their client in front of his daughter. As Spector is dying, he stumbles upon the Egyptian tomb opened by his client and is chosen by the Egyptian Moon God Khonshu to be his champion. When this happens, Spector's dissociative identity disorder that he had as a child reemerges, manifesting itself as the avatar (Moon Knight) as well as Steven Grant, a British businessman (changed for the series), and Jake Locksley (a cab driver).

Spector has a strong connection in the comics to a certain individual wearing an iconic skull logo on his chest.

In the MTV Board's opinion, what is the age/maturity cutoff for this show? My 7 year old son has watched everything else in the Disney MCU without issue. He had some questions after Eternals, but that was my fault and he didn't really bat an eye when I gave him an honest answer. We have a history of mental illness and suicide in my family (he lost an uncle when he was 2, though he doesn't know how) and he is starting to ask more pointed questions. It won't be long until "he got very sick" is no longer going to cut it as my response.

I am curious as to how they present Moon Knight's disassociative identity disorder in the show. I'm inclined to let the boy watch, his mother less so.

My 7 yo son for sure will not get to watch. Something like “The Mandalorian” is probably my limit of what I am willing to let him watch

That was dope. Oscar Isaac is just another example of Star Wars making a great actor seem like a shitty one.

Is this more in line with punisher level violence?

So far, "Steven" all of a sudden wakes up and has no idea where he is or how he got there. In certain scenes, it rapidly flashes forward and skips events leaving him in a state of confusion as to what happened (when "Marc" takes control).

The opening scene has a part that's extremely hard to watch.

Harrow (Ethan Hunt's character) drinks from a glass of water, wraps it in a napkin, shatters the glass, puts the glass shards in his sandals and STEPS INTO THEM WITH HIS BARE FEET, THEN WALKS ON HIS BROKEN GLASS SHOES

I'd let my 8 year old daughter watch, but we don't have the same family history you do.
