First off, the show had an anti-Christian message.
The entire point about religion was summed up in the AA meeting when Pruitt compared religion to alcohol and how it could be used for good and bad if you abuse it.
Compare Bev to the parents of Riley for instance who were genuinely good people. Both grew up in same environment and heard the same preaching but turned out drastically different.
I don’t think it was anti-Christian, but it did offer a strong critique of modern day religion.

Guess it covers that plot hole
Is it a plot hole if you just missed the point of an entire scene?

Also another point that confuses me, the monster is in the rec center filling up bottles with his blood, and seemingly going along with turning everyone into vampires. What is the reason for that?
Seriously?

Yes douchebag. Turning the entire food supply into vampires, meaning they are no longer food seems like a very bad survival plan.
frick it's a great show, but some of you douches are acting so high and mighty like it doesn't have some major holes, and when someone points them out act all high and mighty like yall are so intelligent.

He believes it’s an angel. And trying to give them angels blood to heal them and turn them into their best selves. He is doing it by slipping it into the wine.
He doesn’t know the full extent of what he is doing.

*SPOILERS*
Dude, if you didn’t realize it was vampires by episode 2, that’s on you. And it was actually a better take on the vampire genre then most.
Father goes in this tomb, a flying humanoid (obviously a vampire). Starts sucking his blood then gives him his blood and he becomes young. If you didn’t realize it was a vampire there then I don’t know what to say.
Again, it was a much more interesting take on the vampire genre

I think we have some miscommunication. I know why Pruitt is doing it, but the scene where Riley walks in and sees the monster and gets turned, the monster is bleeding it's wrist into the glass decanter that Pruitt is putting in the communion wine. That's what is throwing me off.

Way over hyped this was very mediocre, meaningless dialogue for days. Didn't get the ratings for this one

I really grew as a person learning that Muslims are just like you and me.
They should have given more time to that.
Hell, a spinoff even.

Also, I’m assuming when the girl said she couldn’t feel her legs that that meant the angel died. Right? The magical properties of its blood died with it?
Actually I took it differently.
Drinking of the vampire blood healed you. But the vampire blood didn't stay in your blood forever and the effects would wear off.
I think the show was more letting everyone know that the effects weren't permanent and that if the kids died the following week they wouldn't turn into vampires.

Spoilers
I figured it out in episode 3 lol. Monster in a cave sucks blood from the guy then heals him and makes him young again with his own blood. To me this feels mostly like salems lot.

I know I’m late to this party, but just got around to watching this. It was good, but very flawed.
First, it was obvious in episode 1 that all the “old” people were wearing makeup to look elderly - so it was clear they’d be getting younger at some point.
Secondly, the instant the “angel” appeared in the tomb it was obviously a vampire. If you hadn’t guessed already when the priest dragged in the old trunk, knocked on it and got a reply.
Thirdly, did this occur in a universe where no one had ever heard of vampires? The mayor and the custodian guy should have immediately recognized the priest as a vampire after he killed the drunk.
Fourth, there is no way the vamps couldn’t find cover for a day after the buildings burned. Just get under a tarp or blanket! The priest had been protected by window curtains earlier.
Finally, why end the movie with “I can’t feel my legs”. I literally LOL’d. Was it supposed to be a final twist of the knife? Came off more like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead. Totally unnecessary and distracted from what was supposed to be an emotional finale.
Also, Katie Siegel looks a lot like Yvonne Strahovski
Not a flaw - they is both hot.

You skipped a conversation in the final episode. He knew what he was doing and admitted that it was to get another chance at youth with his old flame.

Didnt know it was a vampire until they revealed the sun kills them
They made a big deal about him finding the angel/vampire on the same road to Damascus that saul was converted on so not crazy to think its a demon angel up to that point
