Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl.

Read the book, and had no idea how an actress could actually do that role. Then Rosamund owned it, completely.

Cold. Psychopathic. Calculated. Pure evil because she was simply bored.

Another submission:

Dwight Yoakam as Raoul in Panic Room.

Movie was better than it should have been, only because of Fincher's direction and Yoakam as an unhinged evil bastard.

Paul Newman played quite the dick of a character in this movie. Though to surprise of some the audiences of the time kind of liked him as a counter culture hero I guess

He was. But you don't even know it's Dwight until the end of the 3rd act, because he's wearing a mask in Panic Room.

Somehow that makes his performance that much better. Because his evil is only through his delivery, not through his facial expressions.
