Was this at least cheap to make? If this has a budget over $100 million, it might be fricked already. . .radical messaging and toxic masculinity shite aside.

$170-200mm is what Google says. It would need to make like $550 million to break even at that number

Yeeeeah. . .

This is going to need GotG-style word of mouth to hit that number.

Just asked Google AI

Masters of the Universe is tracking for a soft domestic opening weekend of $25 to $35 million.

Not gonna lie, this news put me in a bad mood. Probably gonna stay off TD for a bit.

Felt myself about to go on a rant about the Godfather news

It’s gotta be at least $80 million on marketing, I don’t know that you’d spend $180mm on a budget and not spend for marketing at all

Let’s say $250mm budget and marketing. Still need $500mm to break even after distributor and theater cuts

Could assume tax breaks of $50mm, maybe you can get to $450mm

There are going to be a lot of "critics" getting paid for glowing reviews. They aren't stupid anymore and know how much money they can make off this. I don't trust any of them anymore.

Yeah but they didn’t hold back on Mando. Many of them ripped it

And they saw the recent negativity surrounding the Mandalorian and Grogu and probably added a few more to the paid advertising budget for the fake hype posts.

When in doubt, you have to remember that everyone that makes movies in Hollywood hates you.

Was told the movie is good but don’t know if that means it will be successful.

I am betting that stuff isn't in the film. . .just theater kids reading shite into it

Kinda like the hairy pit ugly chicks telling you Wizard of Oz is really about the Patriarchy and Late Stage Capitalism.

If messaging like that was in there, Jeremy Jahns would have called it out. He is one of the handful of critics I trust

That review is kinda pathetic.

“Take off the nostalgia goggles. I’m begging you?”

It’s possible we’ve jumped the shark on this whole hating everything that comes out YouTube industry.

I just don't understand why people dont wait til they see it to start debating how good it is gonna be. I probably wont see it in theaters but am looking forward to watching when it hits streaming.
