I think I've figured out that he uses education as a crutch because he doesn't make shite for a living. And I pity him.

You don't like it when I make broad generalizations about you or your profession, do you?
That's the point. Just because some people (a lot actually) use vulgarity on a regular basis does not make them uneducated.
Movies reflect society.
FWIW, I'm just screwing with you, man. I really don't hate you.
Alright, moment of truth out of the way. Resuming e-badass state.

The lowly movie Idiocracy is proving to be more and more accurate as the days go by. Society is beginning to reflect the future as shown in that movie.
Then you are doing a piss=poor job of educating the youth of tomorrow. An educated man such as yourself should be doing much better.

So now teaching is something to be ridiculed ?
Being in the service of others is a liability ?
Something to be mocked ?
I always envisioned American culture as being an organic, breathing thing, handed down to us for preservation.
It's kind of OUR decision to provide uplift, or participate in the debasement of our culture.
Language is a key component of that culture.
When I turn on the tv, and my six year old is eyeing me nervously because every third sentence is bleeped out, knowing that I am about to change the channel, we may be devaluing what was given to us.

It is okay. I joined the USMC to make sure that people could act like fools without the threat of being killed. I now teach the youth of America, in hopes to turn-around the liberal agenda that has enveloped so many people of the past couple generations. That is my first goal in the classroom: To make kids understand that they are responsable for their actions.

Logic is something that is lacking considerably on this site. Not everybody is lost, though.

I'm glad our forefathers had the ability to commit to change.

Give me some time. I only went to college at the age of 26, and I have only been teaching for 2 years. I have seen some headway of redirecting some student's thought patterns regarding self respect, cause and effect, and responsibility for one's self. I will not change the world by leaps and bounds, but I hope to actually reach enough children to make a positive impact on our community, at least. Who knows, though.

do you really think that?

I don't use the F word and I know for a fact that I am smarter than 95% of the posters here. Cultured people don't have to crawl through the gutter when they talk. I weep for the future.

never said anything about the excessive/non-excessive use of the word frick. just found that comment funny because it's delusional.

You have no idea about what we find out. The kids think it is safe to bring things, do things, and talk about things at school because their parents are not there and we apparently are deaf and blind. Last year we confiscated a cellphone that had video of a kid "relieving" himself, while others watched. This year we have had many letters passed around to different kids about sex, drugs, suicide, and other possiblities. Parents are beside themselves when they have to come to the school and find out that their little angels are doing obscene things with others.
You really have no idea, do you? It was the same when I was in school. Some kids become completely different people once outside their home.

People who get upset over the word "frick" are fricking stupid. I agree that there is a time and place to use it in film. I love listening to Tony Soprano drop the F bomb thirty times, but I hate watching comedies when the whole theater starts rolling laughing just because a guy says an uncreative joke and adds in a "frick" for comedic value. The word is great in the proper setting.
You're pathetic.

frick, this fricking explains every fricking thing.
He's a fricking teacher. frick.
No fricking wonder.
fricking teachers can be some of the most fricking arrogant frickfaces on the fricking earth.
Those who can't fricking do fricking teach, you know.

Once again, another poster who cannot read and comprehend. I said the same things you just said. But then you repeat them and call me pathetic...wow.
You guys are EASY to pick off.

No you fricking didn't.
Did I say shite like this:
quote:
Sure, but, when it is used 70-100 times in a movie, the movie seems to be just outcome of an uneducated person who never expanded his/her vocabulary.
No, I didn't say that, nor do I agree.
quote:
vulgarity and profanity used to an excess is a direct relation to a person's homelife and education level.
See. You didn't say the things I just said. Have you already forgotten the first two pages of this thread?

Try again...
I mean this was the first post: "I have always felt that profanity and vulgarity should be used to build characterization of "certain" characters, to express their individuality (as an offensive person...or for another reason), but, when everybody is "fing this...f that...what the f...," it is just pathetic. "

I know plenty of people who are fairly intelligent that have the propensity to talk like sailors, especially after having a few drinks.
Profanity isn't so bad in moderation and there are far worse things than four letter words endangering our society's well being.

We're saying the same things over and over again. The guy isn't going to admit he is being an arrogant prick and borderline racist.
FWIW, I think there's something creepy about a man teaching middle school. Call me sexist or what have you, but a man teaching anything below seventh grade is odd.

I agree with the OP. It is way over used. Its like puttiing exclamation points after every sentence. It loses its affect.
I wouldn't stand to be in teh presence of anyone who curses that much in real life, so why would I watch 2 hours of the F word being said every 2 minutes. Its not funny.
