yeah, that line where he said he would keep an eye out, that awkward silence
I got a solid laugh out of that one.
Beautiful episode. Probably one of my Top 5 Don/Peggy moments too. Not quite The Suitcase (I don't know that anything will ever top that for me) but it got me right in the feels.

I was gonna Wiki TWA plane crashes for that time period. But a hijack would make more sense since we've already done the plane crash spiel (and Weiner isn't one to repeat himself like that and it was obviously pretty common for that time period.
There was a TWA plane hijacked in '72 between New York and Los Angeles (happened above Chicago). The plane landed at Kennedy Airport and no one was hurt other than the hijacker.
Of course it could've just simply been this and we're totally overthinking it.

Curtains closing on Pete and Don's relationships?
Also loved the shot at the end. "Every table is a family table" and whether they want to accept it or not Don/Pete/Peggy are all "family" in a way. The three may never have a happy, traditional family but at this point they at the very least have each other.
Glad to see Bob again. Figures one of the more attractive ones that isn't a man whore is at the very least bisexual.
I can't hate him for trying to get Joan to be his beard though. There were some good intentions there even if he didn't realize how much of a dick he came off as saying that it's the best Joan will be able to get as a single working women with a kid and living with her Mom in NY.

When I get some time I'm going to do a power rankings thread for Don's hookup list. It's simply ridiculous.

Sally's teacher is also Scottie from Suits. I think she's #1 for me.

Truth. I think the crowning achievement of Mad Men is its ability to drive a character, who in actuality, is pretty worthless.
Bob: You barely see him for a season. He is always way too happy. Everyone gets completely obsessed with him and his back story. Hell, most thought he was an FBI Agent. This is all of of a total of like 10 mins of air time.
Lou Avery: I have an unbelievable hatred for this man. He makes my skin crawl. This is all off of about 5 minutes of total air time
That is truly the achievement Mad Men has.

Don sitting there in his lawn chair, having his smoke and touching the grass as he watches his kid's teacher run around barefoot.
Priceless.
Priceless.

I've watched the series from the start. I've also rewatched the entire series on Netflix. I also watch each episode twice every Sunday night.
The only other series that I watched in this manner was The Sopranos.
That's impressive.
I watch most of the episodes twice now also. I will probably do a full rewatch leading up to next year's premiere.

Put me down as someone who usually watches twice as well.
Mainly after reading this thread and realizing everything I missed in the episode.

Question though since it appears that Megan is officially toast. Who will Don end up with by the end or will it be anyone at all? Or is it possible him and Megan recover?
I think his relationship with Megan is dead and it's been that way since the day she left the agency. We have very little time left (only 8 episodes) to bring a new character into his life. Will he end up alone? A character from prior in the series? Or someone in it right now?
My prediction would probably be that he will meet someone soon and part of the last season will be devoted to that relationship. They won't run off and live happily ever after, but there will be a glimmer of hope for Don and her.
Or I could be totally wrong and Don jumps out of the building to end the series.

You mean Lindsay Weir, from Freaks and Geeks?

I would hope Don continues to realize he is a terrible husband/partner. Maybe he chases the "perfect family" but I see him going with someone more age appropriate and comfortable. A second Anna.
Also, do we think Megan has started hanging with the Manson family to fill the void in her life?
