Mad Men or The Wire?

Struggling to get past episode four or five in both of these, but have heard great things about both. Would rather binge on one. Which picks up quicker?

Pick one and go with it. Don’t try to watch both at the same time. Both shows are too character driven to try to watch in conjunction with the other. I would say The Wire picks up faster, but Mad Men may have the most personally endearing moments of any show to me.

I prefer Mad Men, but you can hardly go wrong with either.

Mad Men. Not a wire guy myself.

Mad Men is very good. The Wire is amazing. Go with The Wire.

Mad Men is a slow burn. I can’t believe you aren’t hooked by episode 5 of The Wire.
Both are top 10 shows of all time

Wire
If you don’t have the subtitles on you’re doing it wrong

For me, The Wire never dragged, but I get what you're saying about Mad Men - if I were you, I would binge The Wire, then switch to Mad Men.
And ignore the haters on The Wire, Season Two - it's fantastic - just a jarring change from Season One.

I know it’s wildly unpopular to say this, but I never got the wire. I tried 3 separate times and got to episode 5 of the first season. Was boring as shite for me.
Mad men, on the other hand, is my favorite drama of all time. Possibly my favorite show of all time.

I binge watched the Wire, and that definitely took away from the experience. Season 1 was my favorite season, and this was my favorite episode:
Greggs gets shot.
At the hospita after

The Wire
Btw, Stringer Bell isn't a fan of 40 degree days.

One is the greatest television program ever created and the other is about a bunch of guys smoking in offices. Easy choice.

It looks like Iwo Jima in here.

A lot of people say this. The Wire is a bleak show and isn't visually appealing. It's very gray and I quit in my initial attempt too.
FWIW I think Breaking Bad is a slog for a while too.
