Ok commie. This is capitalism at its best. I love this move for Don. He gets Coke now. He can truly become a legend in advertising.

I don't understand why you all want Don to fail in the end. He is a great businessman, an incredible creative talent, and a self-made millionaire who started at lower than dirt. He is the American Dream. I hope he rides off into the sunset.

They tried to save SCP until they were shown the diamonds. They were going to remain an autonomous office with smaller clients out in California. Much like was done in earlier seasons, they would have pulled in some clients of their own for a few years and then once the McCann contract was complete, they would probably pull out and go back to being just SCP and thrive on the West Coast.

But instead, Don could have Coca Cola and Roger could have Buick and suddenly they're in full trust of McCann.

Eh. McCann was very clear that they weren't going to go that direction. Don gave him both the net and gross numbers and the president shrugged. I'm not sure what else you could have expected the SCP partners to do? Plunge forward, violate their non-competes and lose all their payout? IMO, not recklessly going that route does not mean they sold anyone out.

None of them actually agreed to anything or trust McCann.

They came up with their plan and were told simply that it was not going to happen.

This was the second time they sold their business, only this time they didn't have an inside man like Lane to bail them out.

What was everyone's interpretation of the final scene? Everyone acting as if they don't exist as they make the announcement? Just curious, maybe I'm overthinking this.......

That was definitely a very strange scene. I thought for a second the staff would all break into song and dance. With maybe brief glimpse of Burt in the background.

I think a solid way to end the show would be to jump forward to present day and have Don just be another old guy.

I remember reading some theory that would be the ending. It would be present day and Don is some old fart in a nursing home.

I'm really curious as to how they end it.

Speaking of potential show endings, check out this chick's theory. Potential spoilers obviously but my mind is a little blown right now.

Dan (D.B.) Cooper wore a clip on tie. Don Draper would never wear a clip on tie.
