Yet turns around and does the exact opposite for Ben Solo/Kylo Ren?

Why does Luke Skywalker go through all of that shite in the original trilogies and basically learns nothing?

Or maybe he did learn from it and that’s how he knows the Kylo is too far gone.

Based on what? Vader killed almost every Jedi out there and killed tons of people. Yet we're supposed to believe that Luke now thinks Ben Solo is completely gone?

Dumb.

Yea I agree with Mark Hamill, they fundamentally changed the character of Luke.

The Luke we know and love would’ve hopped on the Falcon and gone to help his sister just like he left Dagobah in Empire. He should’ve gone out in a spectacular duel with Snoke. Save Kylo killing Snoke for Ep IX.

Vader was evil personified.

He did that because Palpatine tricked him into thinking he can save Padme. Yeah I’m sure there was anger there but he essentially did it to save her. Kylo is killing because he wants to be bad.

Just my two cents, but if anyone would be able to tell if someone was to far gone or not, it’d be Luke.

You have to say that to justify the logic of the frick up. They screwed it up.

And Kylo Ren wasn't tricked? The dark side just spontaneously grows in people? Zero explanations, just believe all the shite thrown at us?

How would it be true? No one has ever said this anywhere, not a single person in the movie or associated with the making of the movie has mentioned it.

You're 100% making it up and you have to make this excuse up or else that part of the movie is plain illogical.

Because something isn't said explicitly doesn't mean it's not true. He was dark enough for Luke to try and murder a child. And he knew how dark Vader was. Do the math homie

Except he doesn't even really try to murder him. And Luke even admits it was a mistake to even think about doing it

+1

People obviously have to jump through hoops to make sense of the story.

You serious? You can assume about a thousand different things based on this logic, which means the writing and story sucked. It just sucked. Rian Johnson doesn't really understand Star Wars IMO. He just doesn't.

I don't even mind the shoehorned diversity cast, thats all fine, just at least make it like a Star Wars film.

That didn’t stop Rey from believing she could turn Kylo Ren.

Turning isn't even the issue. Ben is just a bad person, force or no force.

The nit picking here today is incredible.

Maybe Luke considered the fact that letting Kylo go dark might result in the loss of billions or trillions of lives (it did) before any opportunity for a light turn and he did the math and considered ending it right then but couldn’t go through with it.

You people today are f’ing nuts.
