Random. Kate's pretty connected to Jack right now. I'd say as of last episode, she would die for him.

Definitely lives up to the hype IMO.

Make it to episode 4. If you don't like it by that episode, this isn't the series for you and you should quit.

Someone nagged me to start watching Lost... For the pilot and Tabula Rasa I really wasn't interested to the point of watching much more of the series, but Walkabout just totally slammed me with some of the best stuff I'd ever seen on television. The introduction of a wonderful character, the emotional flashbacks, the music... you know what I'm talking about. That episode instantly sealed the deal and set me on a course for being addicted to the show.

Name them.

1) So MIB could inhabit Locke's body eventually leading to Ben killing Jacob.

2) So that the Oceanic Six candidates: Jack, Hurley, Sayid, and maybe Sun could get Sawyer on board.

Which brings up an interesting point. MIB has clear motivation for getting the Oceanic Six back to the island, but it was Jacob who enlisted Illana to get Sayid back to the island. What is Jacob's motivation?

That was my point, why would Jacob want the Oceanic 6 to come back to the island? The only reason I can come up with is so that MIB couldn't escape the island.

I agree that Locke's backstory in season 1 was what hooked me hard. Great story telling and tremendous acting. There is a reason they chose Terry o'Quinn to become the MIB eventually. best actor of the bunch.

Anyone see the two new pictures that came out today from epidsode 15?

Except that Sawyer was on the island and is a candidate. Thus, based on the evidence we've seen, MIB wouldn't have been able to escape.

Two possibilities:

1. Jacob brought the rest back to "play the odds," meaning MIB would have a tougher job of convincing six people to either kill each other or leave rather convincing just Sawyer.

or

2. Jacob isn't the good natured being presented.

If we're to look at this in terms of game theory, it would appear that having the O6 come back is like a Nash Equilibrium where both sides, with knowledge of the other side's choices, see that the same action is in their best interests, i.e. both sides need the O6 to come back.

He was back in Dharma times and would have been dead or a very old man before he was needed.

agree. I touched on that earlier when discussing Elie bringing back the O6, including Locke having to travel in a coffin. Maybe they should have brought back Aaron though. Clearly, MIB did not want this and had Claire deliver the message to Kate.

It does make a lot of sense if you think about it in the game theory. Both Jacob and MIB agree as to the set up of the pieces even though they are on opposing sides.

The C4 was planted by Team Richard.

I thought the same, but why didn't they just blow up the plane instead of rigging it to blow up? They knew MIB wouldn't be alone, and blowing up the smoke monster would not likely kill him. Therefore, the only reason to rig the plane was to kill those with MIB.

If they only wanted to stop him from using the plane, they should have just blown it up.
