Annubis had big giant ears. It is clearly not Annubis.
The ears would be clearly visible.
Just because an Ankh is Egyptian is does not mean the statue is. Since the Anhk is Egyptian it doesn't mean every thing else on the island is Egyptian.
The Ankh is the symbol of eternal life.... Richard seems to fit that bill.

I hear ya, now look at the hieroglyph for Horus and refer back to the swan station.

What is on top of the head. I admit the ears look almost feline.
Those actually do not look like human ears.
Check on feline gods. Egyptians worshiped cats. Was their a feline god?

OK Bastet is the Cat God. But can't find any pictures from the side or behind. Feline Face, Human in form.
But still not sure of the Mohawk looking thing on top.

Also if you research the god Set and the god Horus, they fight over the rule of the land of Egypt. One takes the upper and the other takes the lower. Thus they battle over control of the land.
The belief was that Horus, the god of the hunter, would be reincarnated. On Lost, Richard Albert (RA) is closely linked with the reincarnated Horus (could be Locke, at this point) to help keep control of the land.
wowzers...

For fun:
Jacob is Ray's Father.
Ray was on the island in 1954 with a young Christian. In modern times, He longs to be back and get "away" to "go where nobody would find him".
That would make Jacob Aaron's great-great grandfather...just like in the Biblical account.
Jack, a variation of the name Jacob, plays the leadership role of freeing his people like Moses.

I am starting to think Bernard and Rose are Adam and Eve.
We haven't seen them (thankfully).......Maybe they went back to the cave to live the rest of their lives.

I am sticking with my theory that Richard is from the future.

That would be an EPIC story telling FAIL of Historic Proportions.

I was wondering if he was just stuck in time like everyone else is now and that's why he appears to never age. I cracked up at Sawyer's "guyliner" line.

I love how one episode of a television show can turn so many people into Egyptian historians.

"Ancient Egyptians used a type of eyeliner called kohl to protect their eyes from sunlight." Richard Alpert an ancient Egyptian?

So thinking about the episode a little more last night...
What is the significance with Juliet being able to birth a baby on the island???
Either
1) This is someone extremely important (Gonna end up being this)
2) Dharma somehow screws up leading to children not being able to be born on the island.
