me too, but that timeline just seems off, as i've been thinking the whole point of their trip to the island was so they would change, but in the alternate timeline kate is still running, jack is still having issues with his father, Gin and Sun are back to square one... maybe the alternate timeline won't really be the final one

Sayid is either sayid or Jacob. They layed out the ash pretty quickly and that was before flocke ever left the foot.

anyone remember Jacob's list from seasons ago?
Could this be the SAME list that's in the guitar case? The Asian guy asking their names and, seemingly, reading them off seems to indicate this.

Oh I agree entirely. Plus you had Desmond (or a vision of Desmond?) on the plain. No Shannon. Apparently no Michael/Walt. Hurley doing well in life. Charlie went to the back of the plane instead of the front. Lots of little inconsistencies.
I'm just waiting for the revelation of what the hell is going on. I must say I like the idea more than an entire re-set. Just can't tell where they're going with it (though that last scene with Jack and Locke was top notch).

Kate bumped into Jack on the plane while she was coming out of the bathroom. Im guessing she stole the pen then.

Another random thought I had while watching... (which is inconsistent with the previous one)
I think the events of the alternate timeline will cause them to return to the island and merge with the timeline that's currently there
