I'm sure it's been said 100 times, but speaking of Walt, have the writers or anyone else ever said if we'll end up getting closure on Walt? Like why he's "special"? I don't think I'd be too upset if we don't hear his story by the time it's over, but I am kind of curious.
They recently said Walt's powers would be brought up again and elaborated more on in the very least. Rumors indicate he will show up in the finale, although this is all merely word of mouth.

Could Walt being "special" just be part of Jacob/MIB's manipulation of the 815/Others?
Walt was shown to have actual powers, while Locke merely walked again and was told this by people/powers beyond his own understanding.

Stu, the only reason I don't think that its an alternate timeline bleeding through is that a lot of the dialog is directed at what is going on in the scene. Kind of like they are looking down on the situation and talking to each other about it.
I do think most of the whispers indicate that the whisperers are aware of what's going on in the scene. Also, many of the whisperers seem to want to effect people and events...which I think give the whispers major significance. I don't think the whispers are from the alt timeline...remember that the Island is underwater in the alt timeline. I can only guess it's either bleed/echos from prior iterations of the timeline or there are beings with interdimensional awareness who seek to influence the events on the Island.

don't think you can top the Richard centric episode
this was a great episode in terms of bigger picture but in rewatching it about 20-25 minutes was pretty damn dull

i think tonight will be much better than the reviews give credit... i have a feeling that episodes like this were not shown in their entireity to the review panel.

10 and half hours
Also, only 4 pages on Tuesday morning? Is that a record low for this season so far?

well we better start posting non-sensical posts just to get it up to 10 by tonight!

wouldnt you agree that this needs to be done?
Posted on 4/6/10 at 9:44 am to The Eric
I hope they show the DES alt univ.

You bring up a good point, with less pages we do have less of the riff raff posts that we're used to. "What if Jacob is Vincent? What if Bernard is the smoke?"

What if Jacob is Vincent?

True, I think I heard smokey bark at a few of his victims before he killed them.

I have a feeling that Jacob doesnt allow babies to be born on the island because Polar Bears like Infant sammiches
Posted on 4/6/10 at 10:11 am to The Eric
Jacob is the polar bears dummy.

The writers need to somehow work this chick back into the story. Dayum...

First, let me preface this by saying I've watched LOST since the beginning, and I've defended it from the naysayers time and time again. But as this final season rolls along, and more and more questions are being answered, I find myself disappointed.
It seems like the majority of LOST fans are pleased just to have answers, no matter what they are.
I've said before and I'll say it again that I think the writers have been making up a lot of this stuff as they go along, and it shows. There are tremendous plot holes and even entire seasons which appear to have all been for nothing. How unrealistic can a show get before we all take a step back and say, "Wait a minute."
There is way too much fluff in this show, and I guess it makes me mad to think about how much better it could have been if they'd sifted through 90% of the BS plotlines.
The show should have been about the Oceanic Six from the beginning, with every other person on that plane dying in the plane crash. Every sixth episode would have been about one of the central character's backstory, instead of wasting time with the likes of Charlie, Boone, Shannon (at least she was hot), Eko, Walt, and Michael, as welll as countless others, not the least of which is the seemingly pointless Dharma Initiative. You could have incorporated characters like Ben and Desmond into the mix in later seasons but eliminated all the filler.
Does anyone else agree with me or at least see where I'm coming from?

quote:No, I don't agree. I honestly liked the "BS" you referred to and think the show would not have been as interesting without that stuff.

It's just a difference of opinion and neither are right or wrong. To be honest, I'm really glad the stuff that bothers some of you about the show seems to have no effect on me. I honestly could care less about the "problems" everyone points out that the show has.
