If an episode is to be judged by sheerly the amount of information we get, then Damon and Carlton just sitting on a panel answering questions would be the best LOST episode ever.
some people act that way.
my wife hates magic tricks because she doesn't know the secret behind the trick. she feels like she is being fooled and its frustrating for her.
some people just enjoy the illusion for what it is.
probably a good analogy for people and lost.
i like the episode because desmond is one of my fave characters but i liked the richard and the ben episode slightly better.
someone asked before why desmond seemed to go with sayid so easily.
i tend to follow instructions pretty well at gunpoint.

They need Desmond to see something, and they are actively trying to find pockets of electromagnetic energy on the Island. Just putting two and two together.
Fact:
1)Eloise knows both realities.
2)All of the action in the alternate reality has happened in Las Angeles.
3)Everybody has ended up at Jack's hospital.
Theory:
Desmond is the key to bringing the two realities together. Daniel Is Desmond's constant. However, when Daniel made that comment that he may have set off a nuclear bomb was strange. He was dead, killed by his own mother. Charlie also was dead, drowned in the sub.
Question:
So, if Desmond (or anyone) can change/combine the realities, will the previously dead characters be alive?
Theory:
Since Eloise is the only one (so far) that knows of both realities(Widmore also?), is it possible that she needs to use the 'Fulcrum Room' with the pendulum to merge the realities?
What do you think? This was an awesome episode, very fulfilling.

I am still 50-50 on whether she is good or evil. The writers are doing a good enough job of that so far as to her intentions. What does everyone else think?
I'm split also as to whether she is working for MIB. She keeps saying shite like, "what has happened, happened" - total MIB jive.
I too am tripped up a bit by this. So either Widmore and Desmond are going to sink the island in island time and maybe sharing his knowledge of island reality timeline with the other Losties in alt reality time, or Faraday will get Desmond to stop the hydrogen bomb plan at the Swan construction site. So what happens? MIB would be trapped if the latter is the case on the island still. But if the former is what happens, the timelines could be merged if Widmore and Desmond neutralize the EM like OMLandshark said and MIB is defeated. Thus, the reason why everyone seems so happy in alternate reality/sideways world is because MIB was already defeated.

With only 6 episodes left, I am somewhat concerned that they are getting a little too involved with complicated quantum physics. I just hope they keep the explanations as simple as possible considering the subject. Like that Sean B dude mentioned infinite parallel universes. While I understand that is a pretty prevalent theory in that field, I don't think it makes sense to go there in LOST so late in the game.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but if I were you I wouldn't read or believe ANYTHING that 'Sean B dude' has to say. That guy is twisted. If I had to get information froma LOST website, it would be from DarkUFO, just saying.

Why aren't Charles and Eloise together anymore?
Now that you ask this question, I have another one. Why don't we ever see them in the same place after the "Jughead" flashback? Is it because they get the "crossover" timeline effect when they see each other or get too close? (love at first sight?)

i'm not getting that so far. sayid isn't happy because he doesn't have nadia. jack seems happier in the sideways, so did ben. the jury is out on sun and jin, they were in love but have other problems. locke seems conflicted. so does sawyer and kate.
hurley says "he's the luckiest guy on earth" which is in direct conflict with his early season flashbacks.
it seems some are happy and some are not and it seems the general consensus (maybe) was maybe their flash sideways "happeiness" has to do with choices they are making on the island now.

Yeah, I was thinking about the Jin/Sun exception, as Sun is going to have some fertility issues perhaps. She may not ever be able to speak English. But isn't Nadia still alive in sideways world? Or did she die in that ep with Keamy going to put a hit on Jin and get his money from Sayid. I'm pretty sure she's alive. Also remember that if Des can share his "knowledge" with the other Losties in sideways world about the island world and specifically their relationships on it, then that would let them feel the "love."

They were talking again last night about how everyone has a choice (scene with Desmond and Charlie in the car), and of course Jacob was real big on choice as well. This may all come down to the losties making a choice about which reality they want to exist in. The one where they went to the island, experienced love, but also in which many died or went through hardship; or the alt reality where they never went to the island and while safe did not experience the wonders of the island (good and bad). Desmond is going to show them a flash of the alt reality which may spur them onwards to a decision point.

Also when Faraday and Desmond had their conversation. I was waiting for the notebook to say "Desmond Hume is my constant".
I thought this also. In fact, I wish it had since that would have given us a better reason as to why he thought he needed to talk to Desmond. He said he heard him ask for Penny, but that's a pretty weak reason for Farraday to share the information he shared with Des. For all he knows, Penny could be someone Desmond had met in this reality.

Would be funny as hell if Eloise is much more than we ever thought, such as maybe MIB's crazy arse mother.

Which would then make Daniel MIB.
Understandable why he would want to get off the island where his mom killed him.
Of course, I just don't see this being the case.

When I rewatched The Package, I took note of Sayid's sullen demeanor when he spoke with Jin inside of the freezer...seemed more like the "sick" Sayid rather than uber-friendly Sayid that we have known for most of the series. He even seemed different from the Sayid that wanted to help Nadia and his brother.

i think you're on to something there.

I told my gf this morning it's going to suck if Lost comes down to "It's better to have loved and LOST, than to have never loved at all."

We see them together in the hospital after des is shot. Charles tells Elle that daniel is his son too and she slaps him.
